SUBJECT: GO GREEN OUPTUT REDUCTION PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN II
Goal 7 in the District’s Strategic Plan is to “ensure district’s leadership as an environmental steward.” Education Technology Services (ETS) has developed the Go Green Program for Output Reduction to help schools and departments implement environmentally friendly programs. In October 2009, 25 schools were awarded eco-friendly Multifunction Lexmark Printers to recognize their outstanding Output Reduction Programs. Through our Lexmark return cartridge recycling program, the district has earned 25 additional X652de printers that ETS will use toward our Go Green initiative. Therefore, ETS is conducting Go Green Promotional Campaign II providing more schools the opportunity to submit their Programs for consideration. This Campaign will allow schools to submit their applications for review and the winners to receive their new printers before the end of this school year. This will enable the winning sites to implement their new strategies at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.
The TLC Advisory Committee will review applications and printers will be delivered to the winning sites by May 27, 2010. Schools that have already won a printer or are a new or replacement site are not eligible for this promotion. Schools should submit their application packets via email to the ETS Go Green CAB Conference beginning April 12 – May 12, 2010. The winners will be announced by May 24, 2010 and the printers delivered to the 25 winning schools by May 27, 2010. Their Program should encourage “Environmental Stewardship” in the following ways:
• Complete the Go Green Output Reduction Checklist outlining site strategies and policies that can reduce consumption of paper, toner and ink supplies for the 2010-2011 school year
• Provide proof of implementation of an Output Management Program to monitor and measure resources and cost savings
• Establish site policies that will encourage paperless workflow such as Fax Forwarding, Scan-to-email, Electronic Forms, Teacher websites and Electronic Newsletters
• Engage all staff, students, parents and the community in the Go Green Program for Output Reduction
To assist schools in developing their Go Green Program for Output Reduction, ETS will conduct Green Team Training on the following dates. Please have your school’s Team register for “Green Team Training” in Employee Self Service (ESS)
4/20/2010 12:30 – 3:30 PM North Area Office Small Conference Room
4/30/2010 08:30 – 11:30 AM South/Central Area Offices (Sawgrass) Room A
