Size Matters: Brandon University is considered a small sized University with just over 3500 student attending each year. 70% of our classes have 20 students or less.

Location, Location, Location: With the cozy feel of a small town, Brandon is actually the second largest city in Manitoba with 58,000 residing the metro area.

Big City Amenities: Brandon plays host to a variety of events year round such as the Brandon Wheat Kings hockey, Brandon Jazz Festival, and Royal MB Winter Fair just to name a few. Get active at the Riverbank Discovery Centre or take the short drive to Riding Mountain National Park.

We respect the treaties that were made on these lands and acknowledge that Brandon University is located on Treaty 2 lands. Our Winnipeg site is located on Treaty 1 lands. On behalf of Brandon University, you are welcomed to the traditional homelands of the Dakota, Anishanabek, Oji-Cree, Cree and M?tis peoples.

Try It Out: Gain valuable practical experience before you head out into the field. Many of our programs offer work-integrated learning opportunities through labs, simulations, field work, co-operative learning experiences, practicums, and internships.

Take the Lead: You'll have the opportunity to play a leading role in life on campus through our Student Leader program. It's a fantastic opportunity to make a difference, and you'll also eat a ton of free pizza!

Join the Club: There are more than 50 clubs and collectives on our campus, providing fun activities and valuable life experience. Choose from the BU Gaming Association, BU History Club, Enactus, BU Aboriginal Student Council, LGBTTQ* Collective and many more!

Expand Your Horizons: Explore the world of music, art and culture. Throughout the year, guest performers, faculty and students from our renowned School of Music offer a variety of performances. Love art? The Glen. P. Sutherland Gallery of Art is located on the southwest corner of campus featuring the works of local and visiting artists. Enjoy critically acclaimed movies at the JRC Evans Theatre located in the heart of campus.

Dig Deep: Every year, we showcase the cuttingedge research of senior students in our Arts and Science program. What kind of research drives you? Previous topics have ranged from astrophysics to creative writing.

Celebrate Successes: When it is all over we invite you to celebrate your achievements at our annual convocation ceremony. Indigenous graduates are also honoured in our annual Graduation Pow Wow.

Full Body Experience

Cheer Loud: Brandon University is home to the BU Bobcats. Games are free for BU students. Cheer on our men's and women's volleyball, basketball, or soccer teams. Follow the teams when they are on the road at gobobcats.ca.

Burn Some Energy: There are 80,000 square feet of fitness and recreational space waiting for you at the Healthy Living Centre. Get fit using state of the art fitness equipment, the in-door track or one of three gym facilities. Choose from programs and in-house recreation leagues that run from Yoga to Zumba--with fun activities like badminton, basketball, curling, fencing, floor hockey and more! Your gym membership is built right into your tuition.

Check your Health: Visit the BU Sport's Medicine clinic for all of your athletic and physiotherapy needs.

You're not alone. We have many services available through Student Services to help you achieve your academic goals.

Academic Advising: You will connect with an academic advisor before registering for your first-year courses. Your advisor will help you get on the right path with your degree.

Academic Skills Centre (Writing, Math & Learning Skills): The Centre gives you the confidence, motivation and skills to become a more efficient learner.

Career Planning and Placement: Find support with writing your resume and cover letter, conducting job searches, and preparing for interview. Explore how your interests and skills align with different programs of study and careers.

Orientation session. Find continuous support through advocacy and referrals.

Personal Counselling: Counselling helps you sort through mental and emotional concerns like stress, worry, depression, anxiety and other issues.

Student Accessibility Services: Academic accommodations and supports are provided to students with temporary or permanent disabilities.

Transition Programming: We know the first semester can be exciting and also overwhelming. We are watching the most difficult classes to reach out to you if you need a helping hand (Early Alert). If your first semester didn't go as planned, we will be there to get you back on track (Motiv8).

Indigenous Peoples' Centre (IPC): A team of staff and knowledge keepers are ready to welcome you and offer support. You will find couches to relax on, a kid's area for play, space for smudging, a kitchen and free soup. Stop by for holistic advising, academic support, social and cultural activities.

Safe and Welcoming Campus: We're proud of our accessible buildings, our expansive green space, and our well lit walkways and open areas. From the four Blue Phones around campus, you can report or learn more about safety issues such as icy area, damaged property, etc., or call 911 directly in emergency situations. Us the B.Safe App or I.M.Well App for personal and community supports right at your fingertips.

Take time to enjoy the other events happening around town, both on and off campus."
