The total percentage of all duties performed must equal 100 percent.Duty 1General Summary of Duty 1% of Time 70Perform assigned duties that include, but are not limited to, carpentry, plastering, tiling, masonry, electrical, grounds, painting, mechanical, glazing and appliance repair as assigned by supervisor.Individual tasks related to the duty.Building walls, platforms, small outbuildings and framework. Repair holes in plaster, concrete, wood panels, block and brick walls. Lay block and brick and tile to surfaces. Assists in the installation of electrical conduits and hangers and pulling of circuits. Changing of motors and other electrical components as directed. Perform all aspects of mechanical repairs and installation of appliances as required. Remove and replace broken windows and doors.Lock cylinder loading, reloading worn cylinders, key making, rekeying padlocks, adjusting key machine and installing locksets. Adjust, repair and install door closers.Perform duties associated with plumbing, heating and air conditioning.Duty 2General Summary of Duty 2% of Time 20Perform duties required to furnish the hospital with the necessary equipment and removal of furniture and equipment when assigned.Individual tasks related to the duty.Assembly and installation of furniture for consumer and staff areas. Removal and/or rearrangement of furniture and equipment as needed. Pick-up and repair of furniture and equipment regularly. Safety and the vigilance to maintain this condition is required by trained and knowledgeable individuals.26.What are the minimum education and experience qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of this position?EDUCATION:Education typically acquired through completion of high school.EXPERIENCE:Four years of experience assisting skilled trades workers in the mechanical or electrical trades, includingtwo years equivalent to a Maintenance Mechanic 8.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of the accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the maintenance trades.Knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water systems and otherequipment and systems found in state buildings and facilities.Knowledge of the servicing and maintenance of simple power, heating, and cooling units.Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building maintenance trades.Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides.Ability to do routine mechanical or electrical maintenance and care for tools and equipment.Ability to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.Ability to maintain records regarding material, equipment, and repairs.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Locksmith Certification or experience, preferable.NOTE: Civil Service approval of this position does not constitute agreement with or acceptance of the desirable qualifications for this position.I certify that the information presented in this position description provides a complete and accurate depiction of the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position.
