|Book Index with Reviews helps you find information on the books you want and need to read. BIR is a cooperative effort between NoveList, EBSCO |

|Publishing and Baker & Taylor. |

|CQ RESEARACHER |

|CQ Researcher offers nonpartisan, in-depth reports on important topics of interest to researchers of contemporary issues, such as: War on |

|Terrorism and Future Job Market. In addition to the 12,000-word report, each issue contains bibliographies and a pro and con section. |

|EBSCO-HOST |

|EBSCOHost provides internet searches through thousands of periodicals, newspapers, journals, papers, and more. Separated out just below are the|

|fourteen sub-databases from EBSCOHost that Luzerne County Community College purchased, ranging from the Academic Search Elite to Regional |

|Text Only Version |

|Text Only provides a limited search of EBSCO's databases without graphics, for older computers. |

|Academic Search Elite |

|Academic Search Elite provides full text for more than 2,000 serials, including more than 1,500 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to the full|

|text, indexing and abstracts are provided for all 3,466 journals in the collection. This database offers information in nearly every area of |

|academic study including: computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, |

|ethnic studies and more. |

|Book Collection: NonFiction |

|Book Collection: Nonfiction is a rich research database for school and public libraries, and includes general interest, high interest, leveled |

|full text articles on civics, social studies, science, careers, health, sports, adventure, hobbies, technology, biographies and much more. This|

|database contains informative abstracts and full text for more than 3,100 popular nonfiction books. |

|Business Source Elite |

|Business Source Elite provides full text coverage for nearly 1,100 business publications and economics journals, including nearly 500 |

|peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 1,800 journals. Business |

|Source Elite contains full text from the world's top management and marketing journals. This database includes full text (PDF) coverage dating |

|back as far as 1985, and detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies. |

|Clinical Pharmacology |

|Clinical Pharmacology contains current, concise and clinically-relevant drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal |

|and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new and investigational drugs. Drugs may be searched by their generic or brand |

|names. Clinical Pharmacology is made up of Drug Monograph and Patient Education Records. Drug Monographs include description, mechanism of |

|action, and pharmacokinetics. Patient Education Records contain such information as what the medication is used for, what their health care |

|professional should know before taking the medication, how the medication should be taken, what they should do if a dose is missed, what other |

|medications can interact, what side effects may be noticed, what to watch for, and where to keep the medication. Patient Education records are |

|available in English or Spanish. |

|Animals |

|EBSCO's Encyclopedia of Animals offers in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals. The database consists of indexing, |

|abstracts, and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals. Within some of the full text, image links are available|

|for the Windows client. Images are accessed by double-clicking any image graphic. |

|ERIC |

|ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and resources. The database provides access to |

|information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. ERIC provides full text of |

|more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from over 1,000 educational and |

|education-related journals. |

|Funk and Wagnall's Encyclopedia |

|Funk and Wagnall's Encyclopedia database indexes over 25,000 records, covering an array of topics. Full text for each record may be easily |

|accessed by double clicking on the topic from the display. The database contains various images, offers brief biographies as well as |

|information in a variety of subject areas. This database is updated annually. |

|Health Source/Nursing Academic Edition |

|Health Source/Nursing Academic Edition provides nearly 550 scholarly full text journals, including nearly 450 peer-reviewed journals focusing |

|on many medical disciplines. Also featured are abstracts and indexing for nearly 850 journals. The majority of full text titles are available |

|in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color. Full text information in this database dates as far back as 1975. |

|History Reference Center |

|History Reference Center offers full text from more than 1,000 reference books, encyclopedias and non-fiction books, cover to cover full text |

|for 60 history magazines, 58,000 historical documents, 43,000 biographies of historical figures, more than 12,000 historical photos and maps, |

|and more than 80 hours of historical video. |

|MAS Ultra-School Edition |

|MAS Ultra-School Edition: designed specifically for high school libraries, this database provides full text for more than 700 popular general |

|interest and current events publications with information dating as far back as 1975 for key magazines. MAS Ultra - School Edition also |

|provides more than 500 full text pamphlets, more than 350 full text reference books, 84,011 biographies, 83,472 primary source documents, and |

|an Image Collection of 192,999 photos, maps and flags. This database is updated daily via EBSCOhost. |

|MasterFILE Premier |

|MasterFILE Premier, designed specifically for public libraries, provides full text for nearly 1,950 general periodicals covering a broad range |

|of disciplines including general reference, business, education, health, general science, multi-cultural issues and much more. In addition to |

|the full text, this database provides indexing and abstracts for nearly 2,650 titles. |

|Middle Search Plus |

|Middle Search Plus provides full text for nearly 140 popular magazines for middle and jr. high school research. All full text articles included|

|in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990. Middle Search Plus also |

|contains 84,011 biographies, 83,472 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 192,999 photos, maps and flags. This database is |

|updated daily on EBSCOhost. |

|Military and Government Collection |

|Military and Government Collection: designed to offer current news pertaining to all branches of the military and government, this database |

|offers a thorough collection of periodicals, academic journals, and other content pertinent to the increasing needs of those sites. The |

|Military & Government Collection provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 300 journals and periodicals and indexing and abstracts for |

|Newspaper Source provides selected full text for nearly 30 national (U.S.) and international newspapers. The database also contains full text |

|television & radio news transcripts, and selected full text for more than 200 regional (U.S.) newspapers. This database is updated daily via |

|Primary Search provides full text for nearly 70 popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the |
