Attachment: GUIDANCE AND EXAMPLES

RESUME INFORMATION GUIDANCE

During design of projects, the State’s Consultant Job Manager and other personnel keep in contact with only two key individuals; the Project Manager and the Project Engineer. For Construction Inspection, the Resident Engineer, Office Engineer, higher-level inspectors (NICET III and up) and key specialists are of primary importance.

In order to provide enough information to the committee to properly rate your submittal, it is generally advantageous to include the maximum number of resumes. However, DO NOT INCLUDE RESUMES FOR ALTERNATE STAFF.

Availability date (month/day/year) must be provided on each resume. FOR KEY CI STAFF (RESIDENT ENGINEER, OFFICE ENGINEER, CHIEF INSPECTOR) CURRENTLY ASSIGNED TO A NYSDOT CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION PROJECT, THE CONSULTANT MUST CONFIRM THIS DATE WITH NYSDOT’S REGIONAL CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER PRIOR TO SUBMITTING. Availability date must also be confirmed for key CI staff assigned to Construction inspection projects for other clients (check wording of contract and/or make phone call to client).

In order to provide the selection committee with the information relevant to selection, it is usually most important to include resumes of key staff that will be the lead person for activities that are connected with weighted selection factors. For Design, the prime’s Project Manager and the Project Engineer should always be included. For Construction Inspection, the Resident Engineer, the Office Engineer and the Chief Inspector should always be included and higher-level home office staff such as partners/principals should generally not be included.

Note: It will be left to the discretion of the Prime how many resumes each firm will submit to stay within these totals. For Subconsultants, keep in mind their percent of work, their assigned responsibilities in relation to weighted selection factors and, for D/M/WBE’s, the Commercially Useful Function guidelines when deciding whether their staff should be considered key staff and thus have their resume(s) included.
