POSITION SUMMARY Plans, develops, organizes, and delivers communications, presentations, and reports for school leadership and the Board; collaborates with the Leadership Team to create content to prepare the Division Superintendent on various advisory council meetings and other stakeholder engagements; coordinates with the Leadership Team to support and lead cross-departmental meetings, developing presentations and reports, and managing the logistics; records, monitors, reviews, investigates, and responds to Board approved actions.

MAJOR DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Coordinates the development and delivery of regular communications to school administrators. 2. Consults with Leadership Team to develop and deliver weekly communications to the School Board. 3. Works with department designees to maintain updated information on select pages on the FCPS employee

website. 4. Coordinates cross-departmental efforts of work prioritized by the Division Superintendent including

developing Board presentations and reports, with support from the director of operations. 5. Records, monitors, reviews School Board approved actions; completes the necessary follow-up with

designated departments responsible for the actions and provides the director of operations and Division Superintendent with the necessary status and resolutions of School Board approved actions. 6. Works with the Leadership Team and department staff to prepare the Division Superintendent on various engagements with advisory councils and other stakeholder groups, including summary analysis of discussion, prior responses on similar discussions, and awareness of policies and regulations. 7. Creates and facilitates leadership level meetings along with the director of operations, to include prioritizing meeting content and coordinating with staff presenting to ensure meetings remain efficient and effective and reach a desired outcome. 8. May engage with families and community stakeholders and responds to any requests on behalf of the Division Superintendent. 9. May assist with managing the financial and general business activities of the assigned office or department. 10. Performs related duties as required or assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED OR GIVEN Receives general supervision from a director. May provide guidance and assistance to other full-, part-time, and/or hourly employees, as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS DESCRIPTION

MINIMUM REQUIRED

PREFERRED

EDUCATION

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in education, school administration, public policy, communications, or related field.

Master's degree.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience in education, public policy, data analysis, business process management, communications, or marketing.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSURE

None.

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ABILITIES

Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration, school division departmental administration, and group facilitation.

Knowledge of database management systems and tools.

Knowledge of statistical, research, data analysis, and business process procedures and techniques.

Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the activities of a school system.

Ability to articulate solutions related to budget, data, and reports generated from numerous offices and different industries.

Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment.

Ability to manage large projects.

Ability to act as a group facilitator.

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with all levels of department staff.

Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
