General Summary

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for proactively working with each department to provide continuous process and system improvement. The incumbent will develop and execute project plans, identify and provide training, develop detail designs for systems enhancements, and programming to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the user community to interpret and participate in defining, validating and understanding the business requirements and document/translate into functional specifications for application developers. Be the liaison for the user community and developers.

• Provides Enterprise Systems training for all departments to include accounting/finance functions and operation functions.

• Consults, influences or collaborates with other members of business community to gain consensus of business requirements and results expected.

• Identifies critical issues and sets priorities and effectively communicates issues to management and support areas.

• Applies data integration and programming skills in the assessment and resolution of issues and user requirements request.

• Articulates and prepares business documentation for complex system processes, problems and work flows and communicates them effectively.

• Provides support to system issues through timely and quality analysis, root cause determination, and resolution of production problems and issues

• Will oversee the development and execution of new reporting tools, SOP’s and training to improve operational efficiencies. Will participate in the development of solutions.

• Will provide programmers with necessary functional and technical scope and direction for projects.

• Performs quality reviews and verification tests to ensure accuracy and completeness of enhancement.

• Coordinates final product roll-out to the business community.

• All employees have the responsibility and authority to report any action that puts any process or product at risk.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required. Additional coursework in business processes, planning, manufacturing systems a plus.

Experience

10+ years business systems experience in manufacturing required. Project management experience working across multiple departments required. Must have strong experience working with databases, SQL and BI reporting tools. Prior experience with ERP implementation and cloud-based applications preferred.

Skills & Abilities

Proven abilities in leading, coaching, and using business systems languages including generating and creating reports. Strong understanding of the full software development cycle. Must have the ability to self-manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Strong team player, self-motivated with creative problem-solving skills.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Bi-lingual with the ability to speak English and Spanish a plus. Ability to report to work on-time, on a consistent and regular basis, required. Able to deal with stressful situations involving problems with multiple variables in a wide range of situations, required. Able to compute basic mathematical equations with many variables expressed in percentages, ratios, decimals, and fractions. Must be flexible to respond to unexpected changes in work load, emergencies and priority situations.

Conducts inspections of health, safety and environmental conditions and risks in his or her working area as required, corrects sub-standard items/conditions/risks and/or reports these to his or her supervisor as appropriate. Asks questions and/or informs his or her supervisor when unsure about any health, safety or environment condition, policy or procedure.

All office positions are required to go through annual safety training. Office employees and/or visitors must wear appropriate (PPE) when in production areas.
