News about Texas Lottery? winners, scratch-off prizes, new games and more!

Last September, the Texas Lottery launched its newest

on-line game¡ªDaily 4?. Daily 4 brought exciting new ways

to play a numbers game, including three types of Pair

Play, and it introduced the Sum It Up? add-on

feature. Pictured throughout this story are

just a few of our lucky Daily 4 winners!

Pair Play allows players to

wager on the Front Pair, the

Middle Pair or the Back Pair.

For example, if a

player chooses a Front Pair of 6-4-X-X

and the lottery draws the numbers 6-4-3-3,

the player wins because the player¡¯s front

pair matches the first two numbers drawn.

With great odds of 1:100, it¡¯s easy to play

and easy to win. The prize for a winning

$.50 Pair Play is $25, and for a winning

$1.00 Pair Play is $50!

The Sum It Up feature allows players the chance to win a

prize even if they don¡¯t win the Daily 4 game. For an additional wager ($.50 to $5), players can win if the sum

of their two or four numbers is the same as

the sum of the four winning numbers from the

applicable drawing.

If you haven¡¯t yet tried Daily 4,

pick up a ticket today! Drawings

are held twice a day, Monday

through Saturday. For

The $5 Big Money Bingo scratch-off game lived up to its name for

Gladys J. Huddleston of Lubbock. She won $20,000 playing it!

¡°I purchased several scratch-offs and took

them home,¡± Huddleston said. ¡°This was the

last one I scratched. When I got to the last

number¡ªwhich was G-47¡ªI shook all over

and began crying. I have purchased

scratch-offs since they began,

knowing someday I had to win

something big. Well, I did!¡±

Huddleston purchased her lucky

ticket at 7-Eleven #422 at 2504

98th University in Lubbock.

It really paid off for Mark Crawford of Lockesburg, Arkansas to come

to Texas to work for about a month. He and some friends decided to buy

some Texas Lottery tickets, and Crawford proved

to be doubly lucky. He bought two State Fair of

Texas scratch-offs, and won twice in a row.

¡°The first one I scratched off was a $50 winner,¡±

he said, ¡°and I thought, ¡®Well, the other

one won¡¯t win any thing.¡¯ I scratched it

off, and surprisingly enough, it was a

$2,000 winner! The tickets I won on

were the last two tickets on the roll.¡±

Crawford bought his winning

tickets at Fast Stop #15 at 4602

N. Frankford Ave. in Lubbock.

Sally Rios of Runge was driving home from out of town when she and

her companion got thirsty. They pulled into The Tote located at 719

Calvert in Karnes City.

¡°I said drinks were on me,¡± Rios reported,

and she bought sodas and a Deluxe 7-11-21

scratch-off. ¡°Once I scratched the ticket,

I couldn¡¯t believe my eyes. I think I must

have counted about ten times, and still

couldn¡¯t believe it.¡± Rios had

uncovered a $2,100 prize!

¡°I called my family and shared

the news,¡± Rios said while

claiming her prize. ¡°And now,

here I am today, very excited

and nervous!¡±

It was an extra-happy birthday last November for Billy Joe Villarreal of

Victoria after he won $5,000 on a Deal Or No Deal? scratch-off ticket. One

evening Villarreal was driving by the Stripes #9041 store located at 3494

Moody in Victoria and decided to play the Pick 3? night drawing.

¡°Out of the blue I decided to buy a Deal Or No

Deal game. To my surprise, I scratched off a

big winner¡ª$5,000. I couldn¡¯t believe it! My

heart just dropped to my knees.¡± He said that

thanks to his winnings, he was going to have a

¡°beautiful birthday¡± on November 24.

This is not the first time

Villarreal has won a Texas

Lottery game. ¡°I¡¯ve hit Pick 3

thirty-one times since I

started playing in 1999,¡±

he said. Proof that it

can pay to play the

Games of Texas!
