Specialized Training Providers

A specialized training course is defined as a college level course providing at least 36 contact hours of training in drinking water or wastewater quality, drinking water or wastewater treatment, drinking water distribution or drinking water or wastewater facility operation, offered by an accredited academic institution or an organization either accredited by the International Association of Continuing Education Training (IACET) or an authorized IACET provider. The following list represents courses the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) has reviewed and previously accepted as specialized training courses for our exams. If a course is no longer at least 36 hours, it will not be accepted as a specialized training course. Please verify course length before committing to the class.

An "X" in the DWT column means the course can be used as a Drinking Water Treatment course. An "X" in the WSP column means the course can be used as a Water Supply Principles course (Distribution). An "X" in the SUPPL. column means the course can be used only as a supplemental specialized training course required for Grade 3-5 exams. Some providers are "NOT CURRENT" and may no longer be offering specialized training courses. Any courses listed in RED are "archived" and no longer offered by the provider but are still acceptable for exam qualification.
