The California Student Aid Commission requires the Center for Student Financial Aid to obtain documentation that verifies you have met the following eligibility requirements before you receive your Transfer Entitlement Cal Grant award:

Graduated from a California high school (unless military orders required you or your parent or guardian to be out-of-state at the time of your graduation), or have completed a high school graduation equivalency exam (including GED, HiSET, TASC or the California High School Proficiency Exam) on or after July 1, 2000.

Be a California resident at the time of your high school graduation or its equivalent. Read the following carefully and submit this completed form with all requested documents to the Center for Student Financial Aid as soon as possible. Failure to return this form within 30 days could adversely affect your ability to be considered for a Cal Grant award. Refer to `Section A' if you were 18 or older when you graduated from high school (or completed an equivalency). Refer to `Section B' if you were 17 or younger when you graduated from high school (or completed an equivalency).

SECTION A (18 or older when you graduated from high school (or completed an equivalency):

Submit a copy of your California high school transcript (official or unofficial) that shows your graduation date, or proof of equivalency. High school graduation equivalency includes GED, HiSET, TASC or the California High School Proficiency Exam.

SECTION B (17 or younger when you graduated from high school (or completed an equivalency):

1. Submit a copy of your California high school transcript that shows your graduation date, or proof of equivalency AND one of the following:

A. A copy of your parent's (or legal guardian's) California state tax return for the tax year immediately prior to your high school graduation date or its equivalent (for example, a 2015 California state tax transcript if you graduated in 2016).

B. If your parent (or legal guardian) did not file a California state tax return for the year requested, your parent (or legal guardian) must provide one of the following documents for the calendar year immediately prior to your high school graduation or its equivalent:

California lease or rental agreement California voter registration California bank account records California utility bill California auto registration OR

2. Submit a copy of your parent's military records verifying relocation orders from California dated prior to your high school graduation or its equivalent AND at least one of the documents listed above for a period that predates the relocation orders.
