On behalf of Dean Terry Allison, College of Arts and Letters, Cal State L.A.:

The College of Arts and Letters at California State University, Los Angeles is proud to announce that we are now accepting applications for the first cohort of students in the Master of Fine Arts in Television, Film, and Theatre.  Applications are open now through CSU Mentor ().

This new Master of Fine Arts program seeks to educate students in three options, Performance/Acting, Production, and Dramatic Writing, across the three genres of television, film and theatre.  In the three full years of the program students will have the opportunity to produce three major projects through collaborative teams culminating in the MFA thesis project at the end of the third year.  Students will leave the program with highly polished skills and a portfolio of work to demonstrate their multidisciplinary achievements. For a fuller description of the program, see the MFA in Television, Film, and Theatre web-site: .

In the center of the world¹s largest concentration of the entertainment industry, Cal State L.A. is the ideal place to launch this new venture. Through classes, workshops, production, and internship opportunities, MFA students will have significant opportunities to interact with working professionals in television, film, and theatre.

The MFA in Television, Film, and Theatre represents a major commitment on the part of Cal State L.A. and the College of Arts and Letters. I am personally committed to ensure that this new degree program attains or exceeds the high educational standards of our current programs in arts and humanities. I welcome you to contribute to this goal by applying or by encouraging a wide diversity of well-qualified students to apply for admissions.
