To get there from SJSU:
Take 680 North to 580 East to the Hopyard/Dougherty Road exit (You will only be on 580 for a little ways, I believe Hopyard is only about 1/3 to 1/2 mile from 680. This area has been under construction—so directions might be inaccurate. If you get lost, call Paula Ferguson at the number above)
Turn North (left) at the exit onto Hopyard (It turns into Dougherty Road after you pass over 580 freeway)
Turn right on Dublin Blvd. (should be second light)
Continue to the Camp Parks entrance on the left. (Main Gate to military installation. Should be second light)
As you enter Camp Parks, be prepared to show driver’s license and car registration.
Once you pass the gate, continue until the stop sign, where you will make a right hand turn onto 4th Street. Then make a left on Hutchins Ave. and continue until 8th Street. Make a right on 8th Street, and then turn left in the FCI Dublin parking lot.
We will meet in the FCI Parking lot. I think it will take about 50 minutes from SJSU, but there may be traffic, and these directions may not be perfect, so allow plenty of time. (Last time it took me well over an hour, because there was a big truck accident on 680!) DRESS CODE IS “BUSINESS CASUAL”
GUYS: NO KHAKIS, SHORTS, JEANS OR BAGGY SHIRTS.
WEAR SHOES, NOT SANDALS OR FLIP-FLOPS.
GIRLS: NO OPEN-TOED SHOES, SHORT SKIRTS, SHORTS, KHAKIS, JEANS, ETC.
NO SLEEVELESS, SHOULDERLESS OR LOW CUT TOPS, NO BARE MIDRIFF
(Important: They are very strict about their dress code; last tour
they wouldn’t let one student in who was wearing long shorts!)
