LASALLIAN EDUCATOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
LASALLIAN EDUCATOR FELLOWS PROGRAM
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION
The Lasallian Educator Fellows (LEF) Program is designed for Saint Mary’s College students and graduates of other schools, as well as non-credentialed teachers and administrators serving in Lasallian schools who have a vocation to become a Lasallian educator working in a Lasallian school. The LEF program serves the Lasallian schools in the district of San Francisco/New Orleans.
Saint Mary’s College offers a tuition-free program in exchange for three years of salaried service at one of the Lasallian schools. Participants typically complete their credential/degree and then work in a Lasallian school. In some cases, if there is no position available at a Lasallian School, Fellows will apply for jobs in Catholic education or at one of the KSOE partnership schools, or serve in an urban school. The LEF is overseen through the Office of Mission, in collaboration with Kalmanovitz School of Education (KSOE). Priority is given to students pursuing a a credential and/or M.A. degree in a field associated with teaching and education; students who wish to pursue another degree in KSOE (e.g., M.A. in School-Site Counseling) are welcome to apply and their applications will be considered on the basis of availability and need.
Program Timeline
Lasallian Fellows may complete a teaching credential program in an academic year or extend their study over several years. M.A. programs typically require a minimum of two years of study. In some cases, Fellows begin their three years of work at a Lasallian school prior to completion of their program.
Lasallian Educator Fellows attend an orientation, a mid-year retreat, and an end-of-year capstone event.

Lasallian Educator Fellowship Program Agreement
I am accepting the invitation to become a Lasallian Educator Fellow. Being a Lasallian Fellow means that I will be given a tuition-free opportunity to earn a credential. It also means that I will accept a three-year salaried position, if offered, at a Lasallian school upon completion of my credential. If I have made myself available to work in a Lasallian school, and in the event I am not hired by one, I will apply for jobs in Catholic education. If there are no positions in Catholic education, I will apply at one of the KSOE Partnership schools or serve in an urban school. If none of these employment pursuits result in a job, I will be free to apply elsewhere.
If at any time I wish to terminate my relationship with the program, I agree to repay the College for the tuition remission that was given to me as a Lasallian Fellow.
I understand the above agreement and wish to participate fully in the Lasallian Educator Fellowship Program.
