|ROLE PURPOSE: |

|Are you passionate about helping to create lasting change in the lives of children? Award (Grants) Management is a key function across Save |

|the Children International and Save the Children Members, ensuring efficient use of funding and its co-ordination across our 55 country |

|offices and 17 Save the Children IP Members. We are seeking a dynamic team player to join Save the Children International in London as our |

|Awards (Grants) Management Support Officer. |

| |

|Save the Children has implemented a new Effort Reporting and Cost Allocation Methodology (CAM) across our 55 Country offices to ensure a |

|consistent, fair, robust, and donor compliant process to the way costs are allocated to awards (grants) in countries. This global role will |

|help support the Award Management Function across Save the Children to embed this change post go live. |

| |

|This role will support the Head of Award Management to ensure we are developing, simplifying and continuously improving the Award Management |

|Processes across our organisation. It will influence and inspire best practice in over 55 country offices across the world to ensure our |

|processes are efficient and understood, to enable our quality programming to reach the most deprived children across the globe. |

| |

|This is a highly collaborative role, working daily with stakeholders throughout Save the Children across the world, to facilitate a culture |

|of strong operational and program quality. |

| |

|In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, you will be will be expected to work flexibly outside the normal role profile and be able to |

|vary working hours accordingly. |

|SCOPE OF ROLE: |

|Reports to: Head of Award Management |

|KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:       |

| |

|Effort Reporting and Cost Allocation Methodology Guidance and Support for Award Management function |

| |

|Being the technical specialist in understanding the use of the CAM calculator in Award budgeting. |

|Ensuring capacity-building material relating to the CAM Calculator is up to date and rolled out across the organisation as necessary. |

|Acting as the focal point for feedback from Country Offices, Regional Offices and Members on changes needed to the CAM calculator tool from |

|an Award budgeting perspective; feed these in to IP Finance owner and ensure subsequent necessary changes are communicated and supported |

|effectively |

|Escalation point for CAM Calculator tool usage issues and technical queries as they relate to award budgeting |

|Updating the Award Management guidance materials as necessary for any changes to the CAM methodology and rolling this out through the Award |

|Management function |

|Ownership of documentation to support donor discussions around CAM |

| |

|Change support to embed longer term change within Countries and Members to achieve sustained green operational Award Management KPIs, |

|ensuring that Effort Reporting and the Cost Allocation Methodology are operating effectively and consistently |

|Analysing which Members need support, and working with them (one Member at a time), to analyse the underlying reasons for their poor |

|performance. Then to develop solutions and support any change needed. |

|Analysis of all late awards to identify recurring issues, and working to identify global solutions to these and (if necessary) produce |

|guidance for the organisation on these. |

|Working with the Award Management Leadership team and potentially Country Offices (COs) to understand where there are systemic issues in a CO|

|contributing to poor results. |

|Award management policies and procedures |

|Supporting the on-going development, simplification and roll out of our award management processes and systems, working with country and |

|regional offices, to support high quality programme implementation. |

|Working closely with the finance department to ensure award management interfaces seamlessly with financial systems and procedures. |

|Ensuring all award management processes and systems are fit for purpose for the dual mandate of development and humanitarian programming, |

|including emergency response. |

|Supporting continuous improvement across all award management activities. |

|EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS |

|Experience of working in country and/or field offices of an international NGO, with a strong understanding of their operational frameworks |

|and challenges. |

|Demonstrated knowledge and experience of award (grant) management, portfolio management and donor compliance at a significant scale. |

|(Ideally) Experience of Cost Allocation Methodologies and Proposal Budgeting |

|Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and direct a diverse network of stakeholders a range of levels in |

|a global organisation. |

|Demonstrable ability to solve complex problems, from clearly articulated conceptual analysis through to delivery of practical solutions on |

|the ground. |

|Self-motivation, ability to work independently, and attention to detail. |

|Flexibility to respond to emerging needs, including changing work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies. |

|Fluency in English, both written and spoken essential. |
