• Class Work and Notes: Writing things down increases your ability. You must take notes about Vocabulary, Grammar, and Topic Questions; it’s part of your participation grade!

Program Objectives

✓ Become more confident English speakers for various situations, evaluative tests and real life experiences;

✓ Help better understand English cultures within a global society;

✓ Improve fluency, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, critical thinking and expression.

Course Objectives – This course aims to help develop students’ communication and globalization skills as core competencies. The course targets the following learning objectives. At the end of the course, students will be able to:

✓ Develop and improve communication competence by learning basic pronunciation, vocabulary, responses, and general English grammar from simple present to simple past, as well as listening for specific information and details.

✓ Develop and improve globalization by being exposed to English used by real people in a global context, through a world centered text, true stories, and documentary style videos.

Grades

20% Participation, (Quizzes, in class speaking, attendance)

20% Homework: Writing Homework MUST BE in your notebook, in full sentences, ½ page!

15% Midterm

15% Presentation

30% Final exam: Conversation with a different foreign professor

** this course is subject to a Grade Curve: A = 50%, B = 40%, C/D/F = 10%, maximum**
