Wounded Warrior Scholarship Fact Sheet

2011 Wounded Warrior Scholarship Fact Sheet

About the Scholarship

The CTU Wounded Warrior Scholarship program was designed through a partnership between Colorado Technical University (CTU) and the Yellow Ribbon Fund to offer educational assistance to wounded service men and women as they recover from their injuries and prepare for new career opportunities. Each year 25 wounded service members and 25 spouses of wounded heroes receive a full scholarship to attend CTU.

The scholarships cover the full cost of tuition, course materials and fees, as well as a new laptop computer. The CTU Wounded Warrior Scholarship program strives to positively impact extraordinary Americans who have sacrificed to serve their country, while helping to inspire other corporate, educational and private institutions to give back to this worthy group.

All CTU Wounded Warrior Scholarship and CTU Wounded Warrior Spouse Scholarship recipients complete their degrees online through CTU, allowing students to take classes from anywhere in the world. The award-winning virtual campus at CTU offers an ideal environment for recovering service members to begin and continue their education as they recover. Additionally, the virtual campus provides an opportunity for CTU Wounded Warrior Spouse Scholarship recipients to visit and care for their spouses as they heal without interrupting their studies. Of the 2011 recipients, there are six warrior/spouse couples – meaning they will be attending CTU at the same time.

Scholarships are awarded at the first eligible degree level in any chosen field of study, whether it be an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree. To date, CTU has provided 150 scholarships worth nearly $3 million through the school’s Wounded Warrior Scholarship program.
