A special type may be limited to the parotid gland and eyes (uveoparotid fever); "disseminated" sarcoidosis can involve any organ or tissue. It is insidious in onset, proceeds slowly and unevenly to a maximum often without much disablement. Spontaneous recovery may be anticipated in a majority of cases. The lesions heal by scar formation. ................
