Instructions for all office versions prior to Office 2007.

Overview: This game is designed for whole class participation. Participants are divided into teams or may work as individuals. For best results use an LCD projector or TV to display the game to students.

Game Requirements: Game requires computer running Microsoft Windows XP or higher with Microsoft Office 2003 or above. Macintosh Computers not supported at this time.

How to Play

1. You can divide your class into teams, or you can let each individual play. There can be up to Six teams or individuals. However play by more than three teams is not recommend, as it is very difficult to get four in a row with so many teams. The colors for the teams are: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple.

2. Have your vocabulary, review test, or topical questions in your hand.

3. Determine how many stars must align for that team to win. 3, 4 or 5 are recommended. Obviously the more that must align the longer the game will last.

4. Open Align the Stars. Click on the “Slide Show Menu”, and then choose “View Show”. This will begin your PowerPoint game.

5. Each team or individual is asked a question. If they answer correctly, the teacher will click the star until it changes to that teams color.

6. First team or individual to get the desired number of stars touching wins!

7. Stars can align in rows, columns, or diagonally.

Note: If you are using a version of Microsoft Office prior to Office 2000 some of the functions in these games may not function properly. It is advised that you do your editing of the slides in the older version that you are using but use a PowerPoint viewer for actual game play. A link to the PowerPoint 2007 viewer is below:
