ESSAY CONTEST

The Korean Embassy, where our intern Evan now works, is sponsoring an essay contest. The deadline for submission is November 15th. The essay is open to children and adults, and there are several prizes, including a trip to Korea and monetary prizes.

HOLIDAY SALE

KAT will be holding a special holiday sale from December 8-10, 2005. We’ll sell merchandise the whole holiday season, but during this time only we will give a special 10% discount on the list price of everything ordered from Century. Come get belt racks, sparring pads, new uniforms, and other items at various prices. We’ll open up in the daytime as well so parents can shop while children are in school.

100th PROMOTION TEST

Our school reaches a special milestone on December 3rd, our 100th promotion test! Let’s all train hard and make this a great one. The test will be followed by a potluck. Katie Hoffman and Will Lyons will be going for their black belts.

=======================

XBOX 360 CONTEST

Our school has a special contest throughout the holiday season. Whoever brings in the most new students who sign up for the beginners program will receive a new Xbox 360 video game system. (With the parents’ permission, of course). Even if you don’t win, you can still get a $25 gift certificate for each new student that you bring the school. Let’s do all we can to make the school great in 2006!

KOREA TRIP

Plans are continuing for our Korea Trip next summer. We do not have any more information yet on specific dates or fees, but will pass that information along as soon as we get it.

KICKATHON RESULTS

Congrats to everyone who participated in the Kickathon. We shattered last year’s total of 71,000 kicks by getting 104,415 this year. Unfortunately, nationwide we recorded only 7.7 million kicks instead of last year’s 8.3 million, so we did not get the record. However, KAT ended up in 13th place out of more than 260 schools. The top school got over 300,000 kicks. Hopefully, we will be able to achieve that within a few year.

More importantly, we raised nearly $2000 for Gabriel’s treatment. The Nofsinger family is very grateful.

CSTA Meeting

The Colorado State Taekwondo Association is having a special meeting on Saturday, November 19th, right here at KAT. We will be choosing the State Officers for next year. Everyone is welcome to attend, however, each school will only receive one vote. All USAT registered athletes and referees are also invited to come and select their representatives.

=======================

KAT WARMUPS

We will be placing another order for KAT warm-ups soon! These are the blue warm-ups that we wear to the competitions and other places. Sign up now so we know what size to order for you. Warmups also make a great gift. Parents should talk to Master Bill to order without the child knowing if it is a surprise.

=======================

PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT

Parents’ Night Out is back by popular demand. We’ll be hosting the next one on Friday, November 18th. Parents can drop off their students at 6:30. They will take class until 8 and then we will watch a movie and eat pizza and bubble tea. The price for the entire evening (including food) is $10 per child.

=======================

3rd Paddle Ball Tournament

KAT will be hosting our 3rd Paddle Ball tournament on Friday, December 16th during the family class. All students are invited to enter. There will be separate divisions for children and adults.
