Recognition Footnotes

Per Best Lawyers,® the World’s Premier Guide: Selection to Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive and rigorous peer-review survey comprising more than 2.5 million confidential evaluations by the top attorneys in the country. Because no fee or purchase is required, being listed in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor. Best Lawyers’ annual, advertisement-free publication has been described in The American Lawyer as “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”

Martindale-Hubbell rates the legal ability and general ethical standards of an attorney or law firm. An AV rating reflects a legal ability of “Very High to Preeminent” and an ethical standard of “Very High,” which are the highest ratings possible. An AV rating indicates an attorney or law firm has reached the height of professional excellence. Generally, a law firm is given the rating of its highest rated active partner.
