Existing Home Office immigration rules dating from 1998 do offer some protection to domestic workers who find themselves being subjected to abusive or exploitative relationships by their employers. Legislation allowed ODWs to leave their employers for any reason and seek domestic work elsewhere, thereby giving them a safe route out. ................
