Request for Proposals: Spring & Fall Order 2020ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION:Name:Address:Contact: Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Inc.6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403Eric LivelsbergerISSUE DATE: October 14, 2019THE PROJECT: The Chesapeake Bay Foundation seeks responsible bids on trees for use in spring and fall planting projects. 125,000 trees and shrubs in total will be ordered and may be purchased through a combination of suppliers. 150,000 tree shelters (5’ and 2’) and tree stakes (5’ and 2’) may be ordered.SCOPE OF WORK:CBF anticipates purchasing: 2-3 gallon containerized trees (quantity not yet determined), (100) 2” diameter street trees; (55,000) bareroot trees, (7,000) live stake trees, (31,500) seedling trees in the spring; and 31,000 seedling trees in the fall.Vendor prices to be held through the duration of the project period. Vendors must provide goods and services in compliance with all applicable state and federal environmental and employment laws and regulations. Pricing and inventory must be entered into the attached Pricing Proposal form as part of bids.Tree SpecificationsSelected vendor(s) will ensure trees and shrubs from the list below are available for planting projects March – May 2020 and September – November 2020 according to the following specifications:Average size between 12 – 36 inches in length All trees and shrubs should be healthy and packaged according to industry standard that will promote their survival for 2-3 weeks. All container-grown nursery stock shall be healthy, vigorous, well-rooted, and established in the container in which it is growing. Container-grown nursery stock shall have a well-established root system reaching the sides of the container to maintain a firm ball when the container is removed, but shall not have excessive root growth encircling the inside of the container.
