Dear Families, Friends, and Supporters,

We are pleased to present the 2016?2017 Fall, Winter, and Spring Registration Catalog. We are proud to share with you that we have just finished our 20152016 season with our highest enrollments ever! We are honored to work alongside you to continue to grow our programs and provide the utmost quality in services.

Via West is ever-evolving and with that, so is our wonderful staff whose dedication and adaptability truly make them number one. We are pleased to announce our new Associate Director of Programs and Grants, AJ Duprey, as well as our new Client Services Manager, Kathryn Gilbreth. These two will help to further solidify our stellar Via West management team.

This season, we are offering an unprecedented 31 programs -- including our traditional overnight weekends, travel camps, Adventures in Leadership, Altitude, and sports clinics. By popular demand, we will debut our first-ever weekend for older teens and young adults ages 16-39, in January 2017. This new program will focus on establishing a network of friends, mastering life skills, and developing confidence in the adult world. We'll create lasting bonds of friendship and camaraderie as we cook meals in small groups, plan an exciting theme-based dance, and master gardening skills.

At Via West, we welcome everyone with open arms. We have a generous scholarship fund available for those who cannot afford our private pay or regional center (RC) supplemental daily rates. We are so fortunate to work with you, our families, and we hope that you continue to make Via your home away from home.

Thank you for continuing to spread the word about Via West. Without you, we would be the Bay Area's best-kept secret. See you all very soon!

Sincerely,

Leslie Davis, CEO

Sports Clinic ? Golf

In collaboration with First Tee and due to a generous grant from the National Alliance for Accessible Golf, we'll be having a 6-week sports clinic specializing in golf. Participation and teamwork will be emphasized. The point of this offering is to build everyone's ability at a pace they are comfortable with and to the level that they are capable of. The most important factor will continue to be safety and learning, and of course, having fun! These programs are offered to all ages and ratios. Instructions and team building exercises will be integrated; however, the clinic itself will be separated by age groups. Lessons are offered either at 4:00pm or 6:00pm. We would like everyone to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and if transportation is an issue, please contact Ashley Eddy at aeddy@ or 408-243-7861 to arrange.

MORE ADVENTURES IN LEADERSHIP

March 3?5 2017 (FRI?SUN) Let's make some music at Via West! Not only will we take a field trip to see a local musical live in downtown San Jose, but we will make our own music on campus! Andy Z, local music hero, will come visit and teach us a few tricks. We will have a special night time celebration with a live DJ taking all requests before a Sunday Karaoke contest. We will make more than music, of course! We will actually bake John Legend's recipe for macaroni and cheese to take home to share, and we get to go horseback riding as well.

Learning to take good photographs is essential, and all participants will go home with pictures to document their work, but more importantly, their fun. We will need our energy, so after mastering the recipe, we will devour chicken and quinoa burritos before heading out for the next clue.
