Competition Specifics

7th* Annual (2020 and now 2021 are our asterisk years) Cupcakes for Goodness Sake:

Saturday, Feb. 26 from 11 a.m. ? 3 p.m. (or until cupcakes run out) at the Heifer Village Pavilion in Little Rock's East Village.

Proceeds benefit CareLink, a local nonprofit serving older people through services like Home Care, Meals on Wheels, and Information & Assistance.

Bakers will be challenged to cook up something for this year's theme: CandyLand! Event attendees will be able to cast their votes for People's Choice and a panel of judges will

vote for Best Cupcake and Most Creative. Winners will receive prizes from a mix of CareLink and community groups.

Benefits:

Bakers will receive a stipend of $200 to help with the cost of ingredients. Checks will be distributed at the event.

Each baker will have an 8-foot x 3-foot station with signage at the event. Each baker will receive recognition on social media leading up to the event. 2019's promotion included print, billboard, radio and television placement.

Expectations:

In anticipation of 1,000 attendees, each baker will provide a minimum of 800 CandyLand themed tasting-sized (mini) cupcakes (per flavor). A $200 stipend will be provided at the event.

Bakers will arrive no later than 10 a.m. the day of the event for setup and must be ready by 10:30 a.m.

All bakers are encouraged to promote the event in their stores and on social media. CareLink will provide graphics, messaging, and any available promotional items like posters and yard signs.

Bakers may be asked to accompany CareLink staff on television to promote the event. Flavor choices will be added to a Google Doc without identifying information to ensure a

variety of flavors and creativity. Placement at the event is up to the discretion of CareLink staff.

FAQ & FYI

All participants are subject to approval by CareLink. CareLink has the right to determine whether goods and services are appropriate for the event.

A confirmation email will be sent to each participant once applications have been received and approved.

Participant locations on site are at the discretion of CareLink. Site location requests will not be reviewed.

Only the items listed on your application and approved prior to the event may be sold at Cupcakes. Contact CareLink about any changes.

Participant insurance is the responsibility of the participants to purchase and is not provided by CareLink.

CareLink will provide Department of Finance and Administration Sale Tax paperwork upon arrive. It is your responsibility to complete. CareLink will retrieve packets at the conclusion of Cupcakes for Goodness Sake.

At this time electricity will not be provided. If your participation is dependent on an electricity source, please let CareLink know ASAP so we can see if we are able to accommodate.

Participants must arrive for setup no later than 10:00 a.m. and must be completed by 10:30 a.m. Contact Development if there is an issue. Late arrivals will not be permitted without prior authorization.

Participants are responsible for disposing of all trash in the nearest trash receptacle. We ask that you leave your assigned area in the same condition as when you arrived.

CUPCAKES FOR GOODNESS SAKE 2021 WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

In consideration for participation in the CUPCAKES FOR GOODNESS SAKE 2021(Cupcakes) event, the above Participant hereby releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to sue Central Arkansas Area Agency on Aging d/b/a CareLink, its employees, agents, volunteers, officers, or directors from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the Participant, or any of the property belonging to the Participant whether caused by the negligence of the Participant/Releaser, CareLink, or a third-party, while participating in Cupcakes, or while in, on or upon the premises or areas where Cupcakes is being conducted.

Participant covenants and agrees that by signing this release, I am waiving all known or unknown risks of harm, regarding participation in Cupcakes which may be present during the event, including but not limited to, vehicular traffic, inclement weather, or failure to abide by all facility and/or event rules, notices, warnings, or notices posted publicly or provided in written form.

Participant hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless CareLink, its employees, agents, volunteers, officers, or directors, from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and attorney fees, that Participant may incur due to Participant's involvement in Cupcakes, whether caused by negligence of Participant/Releaser, CareLink, or third-party.

Participant further hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless CareLink, its employees, agents, volunteers, officers, or directors, from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and attorney fees, regarding any third-party claim for damages filed against Participant arising from Participant's involvement in Cupcakes or while in, on or upon the premises or areas where Cupcakes is being conducted.

I have this Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement and fully understand and agree with its contents.

I understand and agree that CareLink does not provide any insurance coverage for Participant's clients or representatives for any circumstances arising from their participation in Cupcakes or any activity associated with or facilitating that participation. As such, I am aware and acknowledge that I should review my own insurance portfolio.
