This provided me further insight into how my capstone project relates and can impact teachers at Creekview. Originally, this capstone project would have been taught at district training, but CCSD did not have a need for that yet because Canvas was a new LMS that the teachers were learning. 01/25/17Revised the plan to fit more with the vision of CCSD technology plan and outline the modules that we would use at Creekview (5 hours)PSC: 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 4.1, 4.22/11/17Began creating the Canvas course in Canvas. I learned that Creekview was one of the zones selected to receive an instructional lead specialist who would be bringing in DT4L (Data Teams for Learning) to teach teachers how to track and use student data and the significance behind it. This shifted the 3-module system as well as made me focus on teaching other teachers how to use Canvas. 4/13/17Prepped for training sessions where I will teach teachers the basic setup of Canvas. Practiced troubleshooting and best research-based methods to use in an online course setting like Canvas will be. The purpose was to gain some insight into how my Canvas modules will fit in with DT4L, however, the meeting rather was explaining my project and how it aligns with Creekview’s shared vision and the CCSD technology plan. The ILS is a new position and at the time of the meeting, she was not fully briefed on how this would look during the school year but wanted to know what I was doing. This will help her with her delivery in the upcoming school year. We determined that we would touch base at the beginning of the school year. 07/25/17Met with Creekview’s principal to discuss the TKES evaluation to understand the expectations and phases of Canvas implementation with students. These sessions have also helped me grow and develop into a technology leader at Creekview and opened the door for teachers to conference with me when they need assistance with technology tools. This is building a strong relationships with all of the staff at Creekview so when I begin implementing my modules we will already have good rapport. 08/24/17Met with ILS to discuss how DT4L will be rolled out during the school year and ways in which I will utilize this platform for the use of teaching teachers how to use Canvas to track student data.
