Detailed Description:
The PAINT( in windows) or the KolourPaint (in linux) is an easy-to-use application which is used to draw and paint pictures. You can even insert text matter in these pictures. The icon for paint application is shown in figure(a).

Figure(b) shows the desktop with the icon for KolourPAINT in fedora operating system.

Now double click on the Icon or select the icon and just press “Enter”. The KolourPAINT application opens up. The application has a canvas area where we can draw the pictures. Toolbars are also provided to assist us in drawing and painting. The main toolbar helps you to do file operations like open/save/print etc. The text toolbar is used to format the text box. We have another toobar to select different tools to draw and paint figures on the canvas. Figure(c) shows a screen (which is labelled) which opens up when the icon for PAINT application is double clicked.

Taking a closer look at the drawing and painting toolbar:
This toolbar assist the user to draw and paint figures. Please see figure(d). In this toolbar our topic will concentrate on the three functions of penciling, erasing and drawing lines. These three toolbar shortcuts are shown in figure(e).
The pencil tool allows the user to scribble anything on the canvas. The eraser rubs the data or contents written on the canvas. The line tool is used to draw lines.
Lesson Plan
1. Ask questions how they will draw pictures using a computer . Get their ideas. PAINT may also pop up as an answer!
2. Now just show them the PAINT icon. The icon itself can catch their attention of the kids.
3. Now ask them to identify the PAINT icon. Double click the icon and open the PAINT application.
4. Show them the toolbars and the canvas area. Explain that the canvas area is just like the paper we use to draw.
5. For the time being let us just concentrate on the pencil tool. Point to the toolbar and show them the pencil, eraser and the line tool.
6. Now just scribble something and erase it. Draw some lines changing the thickness of the lines. Erase it.
7. Do it over and over some 2-3 times, so that they get familiarized with the the icons on the toolbar.
8. Now allow them to practice. If anybody closes the application and a dialog box pops up just close it without any fuss.
9. This class only the pencil, eraser and the line tool are the main things to learn.
