Hello!

Looking forward to meeting everyone. I will have some supplies for purchase too, just in case you have trouble finding everything. I am listing things that I have used for over twenty-five years, and it's worth the investment in good quality supplies --- especially as a beginner. Bring your sense of humor and let's have fun unleashing your creative side --- you will love using oil paint!

MATERIALS LIST- Artist and Craftsman Supply or Blick in Cambridge or Boston have reasonable prices. AC MOORE and MICHAELS are convenient but make sure to get a coupon as their prices are high ( -I have listed links below to Dick Blick for their website....in case you can't get into Boston.)

Mandatory Paint Colors: Small tubes

❖ Cadmium Red Medium

❖ Alizarin Crimson

❖ Cadmium Yellow Medium

❖ Cadmium Yellow Lemon

❖ French Ultramarine Blue

❖ Cerulean Blue (not Cerulean Blue Hue)

❖ Titanium White.

4. Brushes: I will have brushes for you to purchase OR you can buy ahead of time -Three round sunthetic or natural bristle brushes: Size 10 – 12 – 14, Do not buy Hog Bristle.

5. ONE (1) Style 31 Dick Blick Brand Trowel Shaped Palette Knife- (not plastic)

6. Disposable Palettes for oils in a pad: 9” x 12 “ or 12" x 14" disposable palettes

7. Drawing: Bring a (small-ish) sketchbook, 5' x 5' or 8" x 10" (or larger if you prefer...)

8. 2-3 graphite pencils, 4B, 6B, (no charcoal),

9. pink pearl eraser, pencil sharpener.

10. View Finder- I will have one to buy if you can't find one

11. COLOR WHEEL - I will have one to buy if you can't find one.

12. Solvent: Odorless Turpenoid, small container, (3.85oz)

13. Two small mustard or jelly jars with a screw on lid to pour your used medium into. The sediment will settle and it can be poured off and used again in a few days.

14. Painting Mediums: Small bottle of Walnut oil or linseed oil

15. Apron, Paint shirt, and latex gloves: --- keeps you clean..

16. Cotton Rags or Baby Wipes, (Scentless) or cotton Paper Towels.

17. (Optional) Flat cardboard box – or a big box with sides cut down to four inches to put in your car to lay the wet paintings in flat so they don’t slide around.

18. Miscellaneous: Painters Tape, scissors.

19. Pack a lunch, bring water don't forget it will be relaxing and fun...!

All cleaning and contaminated liquids, paint water, solvents, etc. need to go home with you.
