Ralph Bliquez began his career in the electrical industry in 1979 as an agency owner and sales representative for manufacturers of electrical construction materials. He has represented wiring devices, lighting control systems, ballasts and lamps, testing equipment, and electrical construction materials.
Ralph has focused on product training for distributor partners and end users as well as electricians at the NECA/IBEW facilities and the IEC schools. He also began a long association with the area’s principal electrical engineering firms.
He holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1973), and passed preliminary electrical engineering classes at Portland Community College (1980).
In addition to his other responsibilities, Ralph is licensed by the States of Oregon, Washington, Montana and California to teach seven Continuing Education Classes on the 2011 code for electricians and engineers.
Ralph has served terms as a Director, Treasurer and Chairman of the National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA). He is a member of the Oregon Chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society and is responsible for the Chapters’ education programs. His community activities include Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Jesuit High School, a Regent of the University of Portland, twenty-seven years as a counselor at Muscular Dystrophy Summer Camp and a four-time finisher of the Boston Marathon.
