|Purpose of the job: |

| |

|The Raiser’s Edge database, which holds records of over 130,000 alumni, donors and other stakeholders of the University, underpins the |

|Department’s alumni relations and fundraising activities. It is also a resource for the wider university, providing information for |

|both academic and professional service Departments such as the Careers Service. |

| |

|The postholder will provide data analysis to inform and guide the Department of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR’s) alumni |

|engagement and fundraising strategies. |

| |

|The Data and Analytics Officer will provide the Department’s Senior Management Team with reports and metrics on alumni and donor data |

|that will help the Department to maximise the effectiveness of its alumni communications, events and fundraising campaigns. |

|Duties and Responsibilities: |

| |

|To analyse alumni demographics in order to assist the strategic planning of alumni events, communications and Annual Fund campaigns, |

|identifying those alumni with whom the University is most/least engaged in order to help target the Department’s activities and |

|resources appropriately. |

| |

|To use data mining and modelling in order to identify trends in constituent and donor behaviour. |

| |

|To produce a range of reports for Academic; Professional Service Departments (e.g. Careers Service); Senior Management (e.g. |

|Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research) and colleagues within DDAR in response to a variety of requests about alumni demographics and employment|

|(e.g. creation of heat maps, reports showing international alumni engagement). |

|To liaise with Departmental Team Leaders in order to identify particular reporting and analysis needs. To produce quarterly KPI |

|reports for all teams within the Department. To consider both current and possible future reporting requirements and work with the |

|Database Manager to ensure that information is captured and stored appropriately to maximise its use in reporting and analysis. |

|To undertake data segmentation in preparation for telethons, direct mails and other mass communications, liaising with the Annual Fund |

|Team and Alumni Communications Teams as appropriate. |

| |

| |

|To assist the Alumni Communications Manager in designing alumni surveys and to analyse the resulting information, advising the Alumni |

|Relations, Annual Fund and Major Gifts teams on courses of action. |

| |

|To monitor information pertaining to alumni engagement, ensuring that alumni activity in mentoring, volunteering, chapter management |

|and active participation in University networking sites is captured and recorded in such a way that it can be analysed and reported on.|

| |

|To be the Departmental expert on Data Protection, keeping abreast of changes in regulation, ensuring that the Department’s policies and|

|procedures are updated and adhered to accordingly and training new members of staff in DP Procedures. To be the main point of contact |

|with the University’s Data Protection team. |

| |

|To assist with provision of Raiser’s Edge training for staff within the Department. |

| |

|To assist other members of the Research & Resources team with processing donations, alumni information requests and updating records as|

|necessary. |
