Datamonitor Healthcare Consulting, part of the international Informa Group, is currently recruiting for a Healthcare Consultant to join their expanding team. Datamonitor Healthcare Consulting is a specialist pharmaceutical and healthcare consultancy, informing investment, development and commercial decisions in within the global life sciences industry. We provide sales and marketing consulting services across the world to some of the largest pharmaceutical companies, as well biotechs and generics companies.

We are looking for an exceptional Healthcare Consultant candidate to join us in the development of our practice. Given the competitiveness of the consulting industry, client satisfaction is essential to your and our team’s long-term success. As such, commercial awareness, communication skills, rigour in analysis and reporting, flexibility and cultural sensitivity are key factors for a Consultant’s success.

As a Healthcare Consultant, your key responsibilities will be:

Project Execution: Together with our Senior Consultants, you will be at the core of delivering projects to our clients. This will include understanding the reasoning behind a consulting project, the client’s agenda and the priorities of the different project elements. You will demonstrate the ability to identify and structure relevant issues and data, analyse these and develop recommendations.

Project Management: Work with Directors and Principal Consultants to translate proposals into comprehensive briefs and actionable project work plans. You will learn to manage several project tasks with the guidance of project managers to produce high quality deliverables to management/client-requested timeframes.

Thought Leadership and Business Development: You will have the opportunity to develop an area of specialism and thought leadership. This will help supporting Directors and Principal Consultants in pitching for and winning new business and clients. You will also develop on-going and in-depth contact with key clients through project work.

The successful applicant will possess:

• A minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent qualification. A PhD, MBA or MSc is an advantage but not essential.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to dive into detail, provide commercial analyses, understand issues, identify insights and develop actionable recommendations.

• Proven client management and presentation skills.

• Ability to multitask across a range of projects with varying degrees of complexity.

• Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel, including the ability to build and interrogate complex models.

The ideal candidate will have had a background in a strategy or Big 5 consulting company, ideally having consulted to or worked with healthcare and pharmaceutical companies. Knowledge of different research methodologies gained either through briefing agencies and working with the data or through their agency experience would also be highly beneficial.
