Project Work

In my first year of uni I took on a project to create a tutorial for students who were interested in learning Numbering Systems and programming languages. The tutorial taught teenage and pre-teen students about; Binary, Hexadecimal, and Octal numbering systems, as well as programming languages such as C++ and HTML. I worked on this project singularly and so I learned to motivate myself and use my own initiative in order to accomplish a finished product which would meet user’s needs. Having not previously learnt numbering systems or programming languages, I had to teach myself enough about the topics to be able to demonstrate and teach to others.

I also made a scientific calculator from scratch using visual basic and Codeblocks to create the layout and then using specific code to make each button active, allowing users to use the calculator easily. The calculator was fully functional but easy to use for all types of people, while still incorporating different numbering systems.

The latest project which I was involved in is the creation of a serious game which international students will be able to use to assist them in settling into the English culture but also getting them more familiar with Coventry. The game is currently only aimed at Chinese and Nigerian students; it allows them to create an account from which they can; have access to their university schedules, maps of the university and city, and also chat with fellow users of the game. I am the project manager and I currently lead a team of 5 other students. I have gained a lot of experience from being a project manager in this project and have established a mentality based on team work, leadership and drive.

Interest and Achievements

Sports

Over the years I have played numerous sports, ranging from; Rugby and football to hockey and basketball. Out of all of them I have the greatest passion for rugby; I have played in many tournaments and leagues over the years with my different schools and at Beckenham RFC.

Other interests

I also have interests in software design, binary options trading; I currently enjoy designing websites and ecommerce systems for clients, while also partaking in binary options trading. I attend workshops where I have been learning how to use 3ds max and solid works to create numerous objects such as car engines and plumbing systems. Currently I am trying to start up my own media and Entertainment Company ‘AfroStarEnt’ .I aim to incorporate my love of media, my creative mind and project management skills into a business I can grow and nurture. The company is all about the mix of, my native continent Africa, and media. Currently I am learning about trading and the stock market as I intend to advance from my binary options trading and enter the stock market properly. I also have a deep interest in cars, and ever since I obtained my driving license 2 years ago it has been hard to draw myself away from the driving seat.
