Locklear Case Scenario- Part 2Family Search and Engagement InformationAlisha has asked that her Uncle Christopher be pursued as a placement option. Tim has provided contact information for his cousin Sandy. The following information was gathered:Christopher MiltonChristopher is a single man who resides in a 2-bedroom apartment that he recently moved into. He has no children and no parenting experience. He reports that he is nervous about the prospect of taking on two small children, but states that he is willing to be considered as a placement. He has been doing some research on parenting to be better prepared for what to expect. Christopher has no CPS or criminal history but a CCAP search reveals that he has had significant financial issues and declared bankruptcy and had an eviction within the last 5 years. He is currently working full time. Christopher does not know what he will do with the children while he is working and reports that he cannot afford to pay for day care. Christopher reports that he has a strained relationship with Alisha and her family and does not approve of many of the choices that they have made. However, he is willing to have Alisha come to his home for visits if the children are placed with him. Christopher reports no medical or mental health concerns. When concurrent planning is discussed with Christopher, he said that he cannot say to 100% certainty that he would be a long-term resource without having the opportunity to parent the children first. However, he is open to the idea of being a long-term provider for them and does not want them to move again if they were to be placed with him.Sandy ChaseSandy resides in a 3-bedroom apartment with her significant other and 5 children (14, 10, 6, and 4 year old twins). Sandy reports she has spent some time with the girls when they were first born. She is very interested in placement of the Alisha and Tim’s daughters.Sandy reports that she does not work and collects SSI for a back injury and for depression. This means that she would not need day care services for the children. Through collateral records you determine that Sandy has a history of substance abuse. When this is discussed with Sandy, she reports that she is successfully in recovery from an opiate addiction that stemmed from her issues with her back. Sandy reports that her back makes it difficult for her to lift more than 20 lbs. but she does not feel that this will pose any difficult to her parenting Naomi and Natalie. Sandy’s home is child friendly and hazard free. Her significant other is an over-the-road truck driver and is gone for days at a time when he has long hauls. His income appears to be enough to support the household, but money is tight. When concurrent planning is discussed with Sandy, she reports that she is willing to be a long-term resource for the children but would like to know more about what financial assistance is available since she is not sure she could afford to raise the girls without support. ................
