The Family Child Care Business Manual is provided by Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre through the Child Care Professional Development and Training Fund, B. C. Ministry of Children and Family Development. It may be reproduced in its entirety by B. C. Child Care Resource and Referral programs for distribution to Licensed and License-Not-Required Family Child Care providers on a cost recovery basis, provided its content is not altered in any way and full credits remain intact. It can also be downloaded in PDF format from participating Child Care Resource and Referral websites.

INTRODUCTION

The Family Child Care Business Manual has been developed specifically for Licensed Family Child Care providers and License-Not-Required child care providers registered with a Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) program in British Columbia. The Manual is provided through Child Care Resource and Referral programs at little or no cost to Licensed Family Child Care providers who are CCRR members and to License-Not-Required child care providers on the CCRR Registry.

The Manual is intended to assist these providers in learning about and being able to respond effectively to the many responsibilities associated with operating a homebased child care business.

We sincerely hope providers will find the information in this Manual helpful. The sample forms provided may be used in whole or in part by individual providers in their own business operations.

The information provided in this document is intended for reference purposes only. Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre does not assume any responsibility for actions taken based on information in this document.
