Atlanta Real Estate Institute PoliciesGeorgia Real Estate Commission ApprovalAtlanta Real Estate Institute is approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) to offer the following as instructor led classes or computer based classes:A 75 hour Pre-license Salesperson course; and A 25 hour Post-license course; andA 60 hour Pre-license Brokers course; and Various continuing education coursed approved for 3, 6 or 9 hour CE credit.The following instructors have been approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission to teach the 75 hour Pre-license Salesperson course based on their field of expertise, teaching experience and knowledge of the subject matter:Michael A. BrockAtlanta Real Estate Institute is responsible for selecting instructors to conduct classes.Student Attendance and Class Make-Up PolicyStudents will be required to be on time and attend all in-class 75 hours in order to receive credit for the course.Students will be required to sign in at the beginning of each class session and sign out at the end of each class session.Students may not sign other students in and out of class.Any time missed from class must be made up on a date and time specified by the course instructor.Classroom Preparation (Homework)Students are responsible for reading each chapter fully and completing each chapter and quiz and worksheet prior to lecture and discussion. The students receive a course syllabus on the first day of class which lists which chapters are reading assignment and what worksheets need to be completed.Supplementary Materials The instructor will email additional material to the students. The students are responsible for printing the materials and bringing them to class.Class ExamsStudents are required to take a mid-term exam on the date specified by the course instructor. The midterm exam consists of 75 multiple choice questions.Students are required to take a course final exam on the date specified by the course instructor. The course final exam consists of 152 multiple choice questions. Students are allotted four (4) hours to take the exam.Students may have an opportunity to take the final exam on an alternate date specified by the course instructor.Students must attend a minimum of 75 in class hours to be eligible to take the course final exam.Students have two attempts to take the course final exam and pass with a minimum of 75%. If the students needs to retake the course final exam for a second time and the course instructor has not specified a date for retakes, the student will need to contact the school coordinator so schedule their retake exam at an office location, date and time convenient to the student. “The school coordinator will need to confirm with the office location staff to verify the office can accommodate the requested date and time.” The school coordinator will notify the student via email that the date and time are confirmed and scheduled.Course CreditYou must complete the 75 hour course to obtain credit for the course. Completion of the 75 hour course consists of successfully completely all homework assignments, attending the required 75 hour of in-class attendance and passing the course final exam with a minimum score of 75%.In the event a student fails to pass the course final exam after two attempts, the student must repeat the course again in its entirety and obtain a minimum score of 75% on the course final exam.The school coordinator will submit the students course information to the Georgia Real Estate Commission prior to the student being able to schedule his or her state exam.Upon receipt of the student’s course completion, GREC will send the student’s information to Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP). **AMP proctors the state exam for GREC.** AMP will then send an email to the student will instructions on how to schedule their state exam. It is highly recommended that students take the state exam within 30 days of passing the course final exam.The student must pass the state exam order to obtain a real estate license. The separate fee to take the state exam is $115.00. Upon passing the state exam, the student must affiliate his or her license with a brokerage firm before actively listing and selling real estate.MiscellaneousStudents are not permitted to sign other students in and out of class.Students are not permitted to record videos of the instructors or any class sessions.Students are not permitted to take pictures or record videos of any PowerPoint presentations.At the instructor’s discretion, students are allowed to bridge drinks and/or snacks to class. Be considerate of other students and the instructor when bringing drinks and/or snacks.Refunds, Transfers & RetakesStudent withdraws BEFORE attending the first scheduled class session – full refund.Students withdraws BEFORE attending the second scheduled class session – full refund minus a $60.00 fee.Student withdraws AFTER attending the second scheduled class session – no refund but you can transfer your tuition to a later course date within the calendar year.If a student fails the final course exam twice the student may retake the instructor led course one time for a reduced enrollment fee of $199.00 plus the cost of any required new course materials.TUITION NOT USED WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF THE STUDENT’S ORIGINAL SCHEDULED COURSE WILL BE FORFEITED.Class CancellationsSufficient enrollment is required to convene each instructor led class. Atlanta Real Estate Institute reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or combine instructor led classes.Atlanta Real Estate Institute reserves the right to change instructors, enrollments fees, and/or classroom assignments when necessary.In the event Atlanta Real Estate Institute cancels the instructor led class, you will receive a full refund. All refunds will be made in the form of the original payment.The class session must be rescheduled. The class session makeup date will be announced by the instructor at the next class session.RecruitingNO RECRUITING for employment opportunities for any real estate brokerage firm is allowed during the class or one hour immediately before the class starts or within one hour after the class ends.Any efforts to recruit should be reported to the school coordinator via email at info@ or the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) via phone at 404-646.3916.Preliminary Decisions for Persons with Criminal Convictions or SanctionsThe Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) has the authority to deny a license to any otherwise qualified candidate who has a prior criminal conviction or a disciplinary sanction issued by a occupational licensing body.GREC has a Preliminary Decision Process to allow a prospective licensee to apply for a preliminary decision and ask the Commission to advise him or her whether, considering the prospect’s record, the Commission would ultimately grant a license to the prospect.
