From 2001 to 2010, ICAN operated as a NICS school under the local auspices of Mission to the World. In May 2010, ICAN was recognized as a special foundation and now has its own hojin. The school exists to provide an English curriculum based on a Christian philosophy to international and Japanese students. The International Christian Academy of Nagoya is a private, coeducational day school, offering an American college preparatory curriculum to the international community in Nagoya.
