JANUARY 2022 RECYCLING GUIDELINES

Please: Do not leave any items when the recycle center is closed! Any items left outside will be considered as trash.

We cannot recycle Christmas wrapping paper, plastic shopping bags, plastic trash bags, window glass, light bulbs, hazardous waste, or any Styrofoam.

Only the following items will be accepted for recycling. Items must be cleaned, compacted, and sorted in separate containers. No electronic items except during special collection events.

Newspapers I School/ Office & Computer Papers ? (Any paper that does not feel "slick"). Remove all slick inserts. Catalogs I Magazines I Slick inserts & "junk mail" with cellophane - Any paper that feels "slick" or seems to have a glossy coating. Shredded Paper-Tie up securely in plastic bags without holes. No loose shredded paper! Corrugated Cardboard Boxes - Flattened and cut into smaller than 30"x 60" pieces so it will fit into our baler. Chipboard Boxes - Single-layer cardboard like cereal boxes, beer & soda cartons, and dog food sacks. Aluminum Soda & Beer Cans - Rinsed clean and flattened.

Steel or "Tin" Cans - Rinsed clean, labels removed, and flattened. Metal jar lids and steel aerosol cans that stick to a magnet.

#1 and #2 Plastics - Recycle these plastics combined-together. Includes: Plastic Milk Jugs I Soda Bottles I Plastic Containers Discard lids, rinse clean. Rinse milk jugs very clean. Flatten if possible. No other grades accepted.

Aluminum Foil - Rinsed very clean and compacted. Aluminum Aerosol Cans - Any aerosol can that won't stick to a magnet.

Hardcover & Softcover Books - Recycle these two items together. Also spiral bound notebooks. Dry cell or "flashlight" batteries. ? A, AA, AAA, C and D batteries, plus 9-volt batteries.
