USOswego offers a low cost 1940's style night club for adults at the Oswego Elk's Lodge the third Thursday of each month September - June. It features a 17-piece authentic swing band, and has free dance lessons prior to the dance. Dinner is available, reservations required. Time is 5-9 PM on the first Friday of the month, September through June. Contra Dancing is offered at the McCrobie Civic Center; Contra is a combination of line and square dancing. Low fee, all ages are welcome, time is 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM.

Evergreen Hills operates a nine-hole golf course as well as a full size driving range. The golf course is situated on 40 acres, two and one half miles south of the City of Oswego, in the hamlet of Oswego Center. The course, built in 1972, is located just east of county route 7, on county route 20. The course was purchased in June of 2005 by John and Kate Hayes, and has since been reseeded and has had a new irrigation system installed. The new owners’ focus is to bring back the “neighborhood golf course” feeling. The course plays very well with the area’s youth, couples, seniors, as well as the weekly league players that have become regular patrons.

Griffin’s Greens is an 18 hole public golf course with memberships available. The course is open from around April 1st to about November 30th, with business hours from sun up to sun down. The course offers a family friendly atmosphere as well as several leagues and tournaments throughout the year.

Tamarack Golf Club, Inc. is an 18-hole regulation length golf course. Tamarack also offers a children’s golf camp for children age 5 to 18. Lighthouse Lanes was constructed in 2003 to provide Oswego with a new home for bowling. The project was spearheaded by Bob Hoefer and Nick Sereno and after some searching found the perfect home on Shampine Drive just off Route 104. With the help of veteran manager Dana Hollister, Lighthouse Lanes has become one of the premier bowling locations in the Central New York area. Services offered include, but are not limited to: open bowling, cosmic bowling, parties, fundraisers, and leagues.

Oswego Little League provides a recreational baseball program for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 16. Each player must reside within the boundaries of the Oswego City School District. Division are as follows: T-Ball: ages 5 and 6; AA-Minor (coach pitch): ages 6, 7, and 8; AAA-Minor (player pitch modified): ages 8, 9, 10, and 11; Majors (player pitch): ages 9, 10, 11, and 12; Juniors: ages 13 and 14; Seniors: ages 15 and 16. Oswego Little League also offers a Challenger League for physically and mentally challenged players of Oswego County between the ages of 5 and 21. Recreational basketball league for boys and girls ages 6 –17. The season runs from late October through March and games are played in schools throughout the City of Oswego. There is one game and one practice per week. Sign-up information is posted on our web site and in local newspapers; there is a fee to play. This program provides the opportunity for all players, regardless of skill level, to be on a team and learn to play basketball. There is equal playing time in each age level.

Oswego Pop Warner is a nonprofit youth football and cheerleading organization that services boys and girls ages 5-15 for football and 5-15 for cheerleading, ages are of July 31st. The league focuses not only on the development of individual participants, but the team as a whole. Oswego Pop Warner’s motto is “play for the game, not your name.” The focus is on teamwork, fair play, discipline, scholastic fitness and healthy living.

The Oswego Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) is a volunteer organization that provides area youth, from ages 3 to 18, with the opportunity to learn to skate and play the game of hockey. Enrollment for the upper levels (ages 8 to 18) generally takes place in August and September, for participation in the regular season that runs from October to March. Enrollment for the “Learn to Skate” levels (ages 3 to 8) can take place at any time, for participation in the regular season which runs from November through February. The Association considers the Crisafulli Ice Rink to be its home arena, with additional games and practices taking place at the Cullinan Ice Rink. In addition to its regular season games, the OMHA also hosts four invitational hockey tournaments during the winter months – each of which brings approximately 250 visiting families to the Oswego area for the weekend.

For over forty years the Oswego Figure Skating Club has provided the residents of Oswego County with their Learn to Skate (LTS) and Full Club Programs in accordance with the rules established by the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA). LTS teaches children three to sixteen years of age figure skating techniques in group lessons. There is a Registration fee that includes USFSA registration, ice time, and group lessons. The goals of Full Club are to provide members of all ages an opportunity to train, develop, test, and compete as figure skaters. This is accomplished through the guidance and lessons provided by a professional staff on a one to one basis. There are associated fees for ice time and private lessons. Our season runs from Mid July to November at the SUNY Campus Center and from November to March at the City of Oswego Cullinan and Crisafulli Ice Rinks.

The Mission of the Oswego Youth Soccer Association is to promote organized athletic development and competition, to provide wholesome recreational athletics and sport activities under supervision, and to improve the health fitness and mental condition of our youth by coordinating a program of soccer play and instruction. The OYSA also provides playing opportunities for novice as well as experienced players integrated through house and travel league teams to foster the development of soccer players who value friendship, competition, and sportsmanship in their play. In addition, OYSA is committeed to providing low-cost fees for participation, including scholarships, since Oswego is the county seat of an agriculturally and economically under developed county.

American Red Cross Children's Learn to Swim program features six levels of instruction to help participants of all abilities develop their swimming skills. These classes are open to Grades 1 through 6. We also have a Parent and Child Class open to children 4 and 5 years old. This class requires parents and children to swim together. Located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the town of Oswego, Camp Hollis is operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. Children from Oswego County between the ages of 8 and 14 attend camp for a week, arriving on Sunday and leaving on Friday. Children from outside Oswego County will also be considered for registration at a higher registration fee. Campers stay in cabins and take part in a variety of activities, including swimming in the pool, nature hikes, arts and crafts projects and campfire sing-alongs. Supervision and activities are provided by trained counselors, lifeguards, etc. The fees to attend camp range from $30 to $180 for Oswego County residents, depending on family income. Full and partial scholarships are available to help families pay for the tuition.

Oswego River Walk:
Oswego River Walk West , located next to the beautiful Oswego River, is a multi-functional park that is useful for a wide variety of people. The park is lined by fishermen year-round, who enjoy the salmon, trout, bass, and other fish that populate the river. A fish cleaning station is also available on the River Walk, along with a picnic area and restrooms.
The Oswego River Walk is used often by bikers, runners, and people out for an evening stroll. The park's walkway, which starts from behind the post office and ends just past the Veterans Memorial Park (behind Coleman's), offers a picturesque view of the Oswego River and an ideal place to get a good workout. Wright’s Landing Marina is conveniently located at the intersection of the NYS canal system and Lake Ontario. The Marina features 175 seasoned boat slips, (some docks include water, cable, and electric), slip sizes run from 20’ to 30’, 57 transient slips, a 3-4 lane boat launch, fish cleaning station, 24 hour restroom with showers, boat pump-out, night time security, and fishing licenses are available. Every Thursday, from June 1 - October 25, the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce sponsors a FARMER'S MARKET , where over five dozen vendors line the streets of historic downtown Oswego to peddle their hand-crafted wares. Shoppers can choose from a variety of items, from home-grown fruits and vegetables to hand made crafts to fresh baked delights. Pumpkinfest:
THE GREAT PUMPKIN FESTIVAL , held the first Saturday in October in Washington Square, celebrates the designation of Oswego as one of twenty international weigh-in sites for pumpkin growers competing in the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth. Growers from Oswego, and throughout New York, Pennsylvania, and Canada will be traveling to Oswego to compete. In 1996, the Commonwealth weighed in the first ever ONE THOUSAND POUND PUMPKIN. Oswego's winners included a 752 pound pumpkin, a 731 pound squash, and a 107 pound watermelon. In addition to its record-breaking veggies, pumpkinfest features live music, arts and crafts vendors and demonstrations, pumpkin carving lessons, ghost stories told by City Historian Rosemary Nesbitt, scarecrow building and pumpkin carving contests, a mini farmer's market, and a wide variety of hearty foods.
