State Tournament Information

Pass Gate

1) The pass gate is located at the east entrance to the ball fields. Please enter through the Eastside blacktop parking lot and take the sidewalk to the pass gate. IESA passes will NOT be recognized for non-team members.

2) Team or fan buses should remain parked in the blacktop main parking area. An attendant will assist you from the parking lot. It would expedite entering the complex if a sponsor would collect money from the fan bus members and turn in to the ticket takers. Schools are encouraged to bring fan buses, as there will be plenty of seating available. If your school is bringing a fan bus, please contact Mike Wallace with the total number of students; phone (309-427?5207) or email to wallacem@ by Thursday, October 3rd (if possible). Please go over your IESA packet so that everyone in attendance is in compliance with the IESA spectator guidelines.

3) Gates will open at 8:30 A.M. each day.

4) There will be no charge for parking. Please follow the signs to the proper parking area for the IESA State Baseball Tournament. We will only offer one gate for admission, the main gate at the football field. (The gate at the soccer field will be for volunteers and emergency vehicles only.)

Team Information

1) It is recommended that hitting practice be done before leaving your school on Friday, October 4th. However, since there will be 24 teams playing on Friday, the softball fields will be available for hitting, if necessary. Again, since there are 24 teams for 1A, 2A, and 3A, time restraints will be imposed.

2) Each team will be allowed a ten-minute warm-up prior to the scheduled game time.

3) Player introductions will be made prior to the first game for each team. 4) Water coolers will be placed in each dugout. Please clean your dugout after

your game. 5) The official scoring area will be on the second level of the concession stand. 6) The Star Spangled Banner will be played or sung at the start of each day. 7) Fields will be prepared for each game in detail. 8) Team pictures will be taken prior to your first game at the practice field. A

host will assist you with this procedure.

Awards

Awards will be presented following the 3rd Place and Championship games on Saturday.

The IESA and Central Junior High School are proud to host the Class 1A, 2A and 3A State Baseball Tournaments at the same site. Having games played on three diamonds should provide fans an abundance of action at the same time. While playing well and winning are important, sportsmanship between players, coaches, and fans will make this tournament a memorable event.

It is asked that fans please report to their vehicles in the parking lot. The IESA, District 86, and Eastside Centre apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
