To all Brentwood Bengal football players and parents:

Welcome to our 2017 Bengal football season. 6th, 7th and 8th graders can participate. Brentwood will have one school team. Football will require a physical for the 2017/2018 school year, a $35.00 district athletic fee, and all paperwork from the athletics packet. Pick up athletic packets in front office. Student-athletes must have all paperwork submitted and pay the $35.00 fee before they can practice and equipment issued.

There will be a preliminary team/parent information meeting Wednesday, August 23rd and Tuesday, September 5th at 6:00pm after practice on the football field. Regular Football practice will begin Monday, August 21st from 4:10 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Practices will be every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with games being on Wednesdays or Thursday. On Practice days, all student athletes must be off school and park grounds by 6:45pm, all parents are required to make sure their student athlete is picked up after practice by that time with no exceptions. All players are expected to practice every day. It is the player’s responsibility to personally contact a coach if they are going to miss practice. Missed practices will generally result in less playing time. Unexcused practices or consistent ineligibility may result in dismissal from the team.

All players are expected to stay eligible. Eligibility means that students must have passing grades in five out of six classes, with no exceptions. Eligibility will be evaluated every Monday at 4:00pm for every student/athlete. All student/athletes are required show a positive attitude and genuine effort in the classroom. It is critical to be successful in the classroom before success can be achieved on the field. Student players are also expected to exhibit CLAW behavior at all times. It is a privilege to be able to participate in Bengal athletics and we expect our players to exhibit positive behavior on and off the field for the entire 2017/2018 school year. Parents are also required to exhibit a positive attitude and CLAW behavior during sporting events at all times. If a parent has a question or concern for a coach, they are asked to contact the coach or athletic director the day following the event.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at 970-348-3000. Thank you so much for your support and we are excited and looking forward to working with these outstanding student-athletes.

“Let’s go Bengals, give em the CLAW!”

Sincerely,

John Spencer (Head Coach)

William Fearn Assistant Principal/Athletic Director
