Cerebellar ataxia with extremely acute onset has two main causes: cerebellar haemorrhage (usually associated with headache, vertigo, vomiting, altered consciousness, and neck stiffness), and cerebellar infarction (in which cerebellar signs are usually combined with signs of brain stem ischaemia, and the presentation may mimic that of haemorrhage). ................
