Submit the Letter of Intent (found on page 11 or at LOI). Submitting this form enrolls you in the program but does not obligate you to take any courses.

Step 4: COMPLETE THE REQUIREMENTS

You must complete all the program requirements within three years of the first day of the first course you take for certificate program credit. You must attend all classes in their entirety and pass final examinations (if applicable).

Step 5: GRADUATE!

When you have fulfilled all your program requirements, you will receive a certificate recognizing your achievement.

Q. Do I have to take courses in sequence to receive FFMCP credit? A. No, but most students find that completing the core course requirements first helps them

better understand the elective course material.

Q. What are "Skills for Professional Growth" courses? A. Skills for Professional Growth courses address professional disciplines outside of Federal

financial management that are crucial to managing financial programs and activities. These courses are identified on pages 4-5 of this brochure with the SPG icon.

Q. Can I receive FFMCP credit for Management Concepts courses that I attended prior to registering for the certificate program?

A. Yes, provided that the courses are approved FFMCP courses, were taken within the required three-year period, you attended the courses in their entirety, and passed the course examinations (if applicable). If you have not taken the course exams, you may schedule them through your Certificate Program Administrator.

Q. If I attend an onsite Management Concepts course hosted by my organization, will I receive FFMCP credit?

A. Yes, if the course is included in your track, was conducted in its entirety, you attended the course in its entirety, and passed the course examination. If you attended an abbreviated version of the course, you must submit a letter of request to the Certificate Program Board and receive approval.

Q. May I transfer courses taken elsewhere to my FFMCP curriculum? A. Management Concepts will consider each request on a case-by-case basis. Requests to transfer

or substitute courses must be submitted in writing to the Certificate Program Board. Transfer credit will be accepted for one course only. You must provide the certificate of completion, course syllabus and learning objectives, table of contents from the course text, number of CPE credits earned, and name of the institution. If the Board approves the course transfer, you will be required to pass the course examination of the equivalent Management Concepts course.
