Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way

Developed by Lynn Lott and Jane Nelsen, Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way is a research-based parent education program that provides a step-by-step approach to starting and leading experientially-based parenting groups. This program stands alone or offers significant enhancement to any program. It provides experiential activities that reach the heart to inspire deeper understanding and change.

1. Learn research-based effective parenting tools and techniques that are mutually respectful, create connection, empower children to feel capable, and encourage children's innate desire to contribute.

2. Deepen your understanding of the Adlerian approach to parenting.

3. Learn how to facilitate a parenting class from the position of a non-expert.

4. Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding and be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.

5. Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes, and individual work with families.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Workshop Registrations: A full refund (minus a $35 processing fee) will be given when the request for a refund is made up to 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop. Refunds are not available for cancellations less than 30 days before a workshop. However, paid registrants can transfer to another workshop within one year at no additional cost. Refunds are not available after a transfer is made or if you do not provide advanced notice that you will not be attending the workshop. In the event of cancellation participants will be notified by email.

Julie Iraninejad, M.Ed. is a Certified

Positive Discipline Lead Trainer who trains Parent Educators and Classroom Teachers for the Positive Discipline Association. Julie has a Masters of Education in Montessori/Early Childhood Education and has many years of teaching experience. She holds current teaching certificates in early childhood education, elementary education, ESL and bilingual education, as well as Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) diplomas in Infancy and Primary Montessori. She has been trained in restorative justice and restorative practices by the International Institute of Restorative Practices (IIRP) and is also trained in Responsive Classroom by the Center for Responsive Schools. She is a Virtues Project Facilitator and has helped encourage and empower families and communities in character education for twenty years. She is a wife and mother of two precious children.
