Recap: Fashion Night Out 2011 At Highland Park Village In DallasBY?SUSAN FRIEDMANSEPTEMBER 13, 2011?0 COMMENTSAbby Gregory, Lisa Petty and Priya Bhola at Scoop (Photo Credit: Susan Friedman)Red carpets, champagne, and gourmet cupcakes mixed with designer fashion, catwalks and models at the third annual Fashion Night Out on September 8 atHighland Park Village. It was a seduction?between fashion’s finest labels and fashion lovers.Highland Park Village is a premier shopping and dining destination with such names as Carolina Herrera, Hermès, Escada, Pucci, Chanel, Diane von Furstenberg, Christian Louboutin, Frédéric Fekkai and the new Marquee Grill restaurant, among others. The complex was a legacy since the first day it was built in 1931. According to Urban Land Institute, Highland Park Village is the first planned shopping center in the United States, and its iconic reputation was only re-affirmed with numerous local celebrity attendances, exciting events and style during FNO.Jan Strimple, host and fashion show producer extraordinaire (Photo Credit: Susan Friedman)The infamous?Jan Strimple?hosted and produced two outdoor runway fashion shows which?always?means perfection, from the flawlessly coiffed models to the execution with an element of fun surprise. Gorgeous, slender female models showcased many fall trends, like python and fur, while bare-chested male models hung Jimmy Choo shoes around their necks. The Christian Louboutin boutique, sponsored by Grey Goose vodka, won the award for longest door line as they unveiled two limited edition FNO?platform pumps and matching handbag. Talented staff from Frédéric Fekkai styled hair in trendy messy up-dos and guests could go to the eyelash bar stocked with a Louboutin custom lash.Christian Louboutin's party was a hit (Photo Credit: Susan Friedman)The Chanel boutique, serving champagne, featured a nail bar and mini manicures to showcase three exclusive FNO “denim” hues.Chanel's exclusive FNO denim polishes (Photo Credit: Susan Friedman)Jimmy Choo partnered with D Magazine and by far had the best cupcakes including a peanut butter and jelly flavor. Hosted by NBC Dallas fashion writer?Abby Gregory, freelance fashion writer and stylistStephanie Quadri, television personalityAnnie Potasznik?and DFW Style Daily’s?Lisa Petty, Scoop’s event was very sociable and a true crowd-pleaser. Each lovely host, dressed in favorite items from the boutique, created table displays of recommended must-haves for the season, and party-goers could get fabulous faux lashes.Signature lashes at Christian Louboutin (Photo Credit: Susan Friedman)To say the least, so many parties and so little time. One of my friends who is new to Dallas and has never attended FNO asked what to expect before the big event. The fashion industry’s endearing term, “the biggest fashion party in history,” would be a fair assessment with over 250 cities nationwide participating. In Dallas, FNO means wearing your best, most expensive designer party dress and stilettos, sipping on lots of champagne, mingling with fashion divas, and perusing the stores for autumn shopping. Many locations across Dallas hosted events, and Highland Park Village’s FNO lived up to its name of pure excellence. ................
