To Change a Datatel PasswordIf the following error message is received, the Datatel password will need to be changed. Click “OK” to continue. NOTE: Datatel passwords must be changed prior to the first login attempt.To change a Datatel password, open an Internet Explorer page. Go to (this link can be copied and pasted into the web browser): (from District computers) or . For non-District computers (e.g. personal home computer), log onto Remote. Enter in the browser box, and click “Browse.”On the Datatel password change page, enter the Datatel User ID in the “User ID” field (usually the first initial and first seven letters of the last name), enter the old password in the “Old Password” field, and enter the new password in the “New Password” and “New Password (Confirm)” fields. Click the “Change Password” icon to complete the process.The new password must be at least eight (8) characters (letters, number, symbols) in length, start with a letter, contain at least two (2) letters, one (1) capital letter, one (1) number, and / or one (1) special character (e.g. * & ^ % $ # @ ! ?, etc.). The new password cannot resemble the User ID or the word “Password,” or the previous two (2) passwords. If the password is changed successfully, a confirmation message will appear beneath the “Change Password” icon.If there is any problem changing the password, an error message will be displayed beneath the “Change Password” icon. Repeat steps 1-3 to try again. Ensure that the new password meets all of the requirements. If the problem persists, contact the Help Desk.A confirmation Email will also be sent when the Datatel password has been successfully changed. The Email is sent as added security to ensure that a password is not changed without the knowledge of the user. ................
