THE NORTHERN KY SPORTS HALL OF FAME WILL INDUCT NEW MEMBERS INTO ITS ORGANIZATION ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 19, 2007. AT 1:00 P.M. THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND THE CEREMONY THAT WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE VILLA HILLS CIVIC CLUB HALL, 729 ROGERS ROAD VILLA HILLS KENTUCKY.

STAN ARNZEN - PLAYED FOR THE NEWPORT HIGH SCHOOL WILDCATS.

HE WAS NOTED AS THE FINEST PLAYER TO EVER WEAR THE RED AND BLACK.

STAN ATTENDED MOREHEAD STATE AND EXCELLED IN BASKETBALL AND

BASEBALL. HE PLAYED PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL FOR CLEVELAND INDIANS

AND THE CINCINNATI REDS. HE RECEIVED THE PRESTIGIOUS SPAULDING TROPHY AS BASEBALL OUTSTANDING ROOKIE IN 1946. HE LATER COACHED NEWPORT WILDCATS AND COMPILED A IMPRESSIVE RECORD OF 452 WINS AND 169 LOSSES. HE LED HIS NEWPORT TEAMS TO FIVE KY STATE TOURNAMENTS. HIS TEAMS WERE AMONG THE TOP 3 OF THE NKAC 20 TIMES IN 21 YEARS.

TOM BERNS – FLORENCE KY. HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL OFFICIAL FOR 27 YEARS. PARTICIPATED IN 5 STATE FINALS AND 5 STATE SEMI- FINALS. WORKED 15 STRAIGHT REGIONAL AND 18 DISTRICT FINALS. IN FOOTBALL OFFICIATED 13 YEARS, PARTICIPTED IN 4 FINALS AS BACK JUDGE DIVISION I TWICE, DIVISION II TWICE AND 8 SEMI-STATE FINALS. WORKED IN 9 REGIONAL FINALS AND 11 STRAIGHT YEARS IN PLAYOFF IN BASEBALL UMPIRED 8 YEARS WERE HE WORKED 2 STATE FINALS, 4 REGIONAL AND 5 DISTRICT FINALS. TOM HAS BEEN A OFFICIAL IN BASKETBALL AND FOOTBALL ALL LEVELS OF COLLEGE AND ARENA INDOOR FOOTBALL.

DAVE DRAMIS – VILLA HILLS KY. GRADUATED FROM HOLMES HIGH SCHOOL IN 1954 WERE HE PLAYED FOOTBALL AND RAN TRACK. WAS CHOSEN FOR ALL CONFERENCE TEAM HIS SENIOR YEAR. DAVE RECEIVED A SCHOLARSHIP TO XAVIER UNIVERSITY. RAN TRACK IN 1952, 1953 AND 1954 IN FOLLOWING EVENS 100 YARD,. 200 YARD, 440 YARD DASHES,

880 YARD RELAY AND MILE RELAY. SOPHOMORE YEAR 440 YARD DASH

REGIONAL & CONFERENCE FINISHED 2ND PLACE. JUNIOR & SENIOR YEAR

100 YARD DASH, 220 YARD DASH AND 880 YARD RELAY. SENIOR YEAR WON AL EVENTS IN TRHE 100 YD AND 220 YD DASHES. STATE TRACK MEETS FINISHED 3RD IN 220 YARD DASH AND FINISHED 5TH IN 100 YD DASH.

MARK KLOEKER – CRESCENT SPRINGS, KY. HOLY CROSS BOXING TEAM FROM 1944- 1947. MARK WAS NAMED CAPTAIN OF THE BOXING TEAM AND WON GOLDEN GLOVES AWARD. HE COACHED COVINGTON LATIN AND WAS NAMED TO GOLDEN GLOVES HALL OF FAME.

MOST EXCITING DECISION WAS TO GET INTO BOXING

NAOMI DELANEY MELIA – BATESVILLE IN. GRADUATED FROM DAYTON HIGH SCHOOL IN 1955 AND ATTENDED UNION COLLEGE. FIRST TEACHING POSITION WAS AT BELLEVUE HIGH SCHOOL WAS COACHING GIRLS SPORTS. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS SHE RELOCATED TO DAYTON, OHIO WERE SHE TAUGHT AND COACHED IN CENTERVILLE, OHIO. IN 1964 SHE RETURNED TO DAYTON HIGH SCHOOL WERE SHE COACHED BASKETBALL, VOLLEYBALL, TRACK AND FIELD AND BOWLING. SHE BEGAN TO WORK WITH OTHER AREA COACHES IN AN EFFORT TO HAVE THE STATE OF KENTUCKY RECOGNIZE WOMEN SPORTS.. ONE OF HER MOST CHALLENGING AND REWARDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS WAS THE CREATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF A SUCCESSFUL LATCH KEY PROGRAM FOR A LARGE METHODIST CHURCH.

DALE OVERMANN – FT. WRIGHT KY. WAS A FOUR YEAR BASKETBALL PLAYER AT COVINGTON CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL 1963 – 1967. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE 1967 TEAM THAT WAS KENTUCKY STATE RUNNER-UP. WAS NAMED ALL 34TH DISTRICT TEAM AND ALL 9TH REGION TEAM IN 1967. ATTENDED UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT CHATTANOOGA ON A BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIP. HE WAS INDUCTED INTO COVINGTON CATHOLIC HALL OF FAME IN 1984. STARTED PLAYING SOFTBALL IN 1972 AND PLAYED ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT TEAMS OVER THE YEARS. DALE HAS RECEIVED FOLLOWING MAJOR SOFTBALL AWARDS, IN 1976 KY STATE CHAMPS MVP, 1977 1ST TEAM CENTRAL DIVISION NATIONAL TOURNEY, IN 1979 OHIO VALLEY CLASSIC MVP, FROM 1986 TO 1989 1ST TEAM ALL TOURENY 35 AND OVER NATIONAL TOURNAMENT.

RONALD SCHNEIDER – UNION KY. PLAYED BASEBALL AT COVINGTON CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL FOR 3 YEARS. HE PLAYED ON SEVERAL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL TEAMS IN NORTHERN KENTUCKY AND GREATER CINCINNATI AREA AND HE WAS VOTED MVP ON SEVERAL ALL TOURNEY TEAMS. RON COACHED HIGH SCHOLL FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL OFTEN A VOLUNTEER AT COVINGTON CATHOLIC AND COVINGTON HOLMES. HE COACHED LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL FOR YEARS, AND HIS PLAYERS ADMIRED HIM FOR HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME AND HIS DESIRE TO TEACH THEM THE FUNDAMENTALS.
