The chapters listed below are exegeted word-by-word, verse-by-verse.

This document has been updated July 3, 2022. So far, there are 7304 pages in the chapter-by-chapter commentary.

So far, Luke 1?6 are essentially completed (3 original translations, full word-by-word Greek exegesis, translations taken from over 100 available, and a full commentary). Luke 7?8 mostly complete (3 original translations, full word-by-word Greek exegesis, translations taken from over 100 available, and a reasonable commentary). Luke 9?21 has been exegeted, translated (with 3 original translations) and interpreted (commentary is there, but it is sparse). Luke 22?24 have been translated and exegeted.

In Luke 9?10, there are 16 specific translations which have been added. Starting with Luke 11, and going forward, I will now consult 60 translations; to be later appended with the remaining translations from the overall 100+.

Luke 1?6 are very nearly completed, and all of the weekly study notes are integrated back into Luke 1?6. Given my plans for the future, this may be as far as I go with this study (which is already quite extensive).

These files can also be accessed individually via the links below or from within the Luke folder:

I also send out a weekly study in Luke, which files may be found here (HTML) (PDF) (WPD) (folder). If you download the *.wpd document (s), they will download with the *.htm extension (don't ask me why); you must change this extension and they will become normal WP documents in every respect. At some point in time, everything found in these weekly studies will be transferred over to the chapter-by-chapter studies. The weekly studies are designed for the average Bible student. The chapter-by-chapter studies (like those listed below) are designed for research (pastor teachers, commentators, missionaries, Sunday School teachers).

To help you distinguish between the two tracks of study which I have done in the book of Luke. The abbreviated commentary includes only chapters 3?6 (so far).

Even though these are less extensive than the chapter studies, these lessons are by no means dumbed down.

Everything found in the weekly lessons is eventually transferred into the chapter studies (whenever I complete a chapter).

I have begun to summarize every chapter of Luke (so far, I have done Luke 3?6), and am putting together a brief commentary (400?600 pages) of the entire book of Luke. Sometimes when doing a study, one wants to see a reasonable translation, some basic commentary, and little else. This brief commentary will be taken from the brief concluding commentary at the end of every complete chapter of Luke.
