■ 4776375-78844400INVESTMENT ANALYST, PRIVATE ASSETS CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPAThe CMPA’s investment portfolio is a key component to the CMPA’s long-term sustainability. The Investments department is responsible for optimizing the return on investment of the CMPA’s Reserve for Claims, within the parameters set out in the Statement of Investment Policies & Goals.The department’s core activities include asset management and oversight, research and analysis, as well as performance and risk reporting. The department provides strategic guidance and tactical support to senior management and the Investment Committee in the areas of strategic asset allocation, asset-liability modelling, portfolio design and implementation, as well as performance and risk reporting. POSITION OVERVIEWThe Investment Analyst is primarily responsible for the analysis and reporting functions related to the monitoring of the Private Assets portfolio, as well as conducting research and providing support in new investment activities. The Investment Analyst will work within the Private Assets team demonstrating impeccable technical abilities in gathering and analysing quantitative data, producing research papers and presentations, and collaborating with different groups including the Middle Office, Public Assets, and the Back Office. POSITION ACTIVITIESThe Investment Analyst will act as the primary resource on monitoring the Private Asset portfolio. The incumbent will conduct quantitative analysis and produce attribution reports, in addition to providing support for investment due diligence and market research. The responsibilities related to this position include the following:Responsible for preparing and running the commitment model and the cash flow forecasts based on expected deployments and distributions Responsible for the monitoring of existing portfolio investments through conducting the review of all financial statements, preparing quarterly progress summaries, verifying the accuracy of internal valuations, and attending manager meetings Prepare portfolio performance and attribution reports for the Private Assets portfolio and become the expert on gathering data and running reports for the Private Assets teamParticipate in Investment Committee-related work through analysis of results and preparing quantitative analysis for presentations Participate in the due diligence of new investment opportunities through attribution analysis, reference checks, market research, and preparation of subscription documents and new investment checklistsA team player working in a cooperative way, with the ability to question the status quo Provide assistance in due diligence processes in conducting financial analysis, financial modelling, and researching particular topics. Work with the Back Office on any questions related to the Private Assets portfolio during quarterly valuation and annual audit processesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum of 5 years’ work in portfolio management and/or financial analytical work; relevant private assets experience will be considered an asset Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in a specialized field (e.g., m, B. of Laws, B. Engineering, B. Arts, or B.Sc). The following designations or degrees would be an asset: degree in Commerce with specialization in Finance or Accounting, Chartered Accountant, Chartered Management Accountant. MBA would be preferred.Actively pursuing Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with a minimum of Level 1 completed.
