Please be aware that Oracle 10g (recommended) or Oracle 9i is required for SiteManager 3.11a, Oracle 8i is not supported. Windows XP and Windows 7 are both supported starting with this version.
SiteManager 3.11a is a 32-bit application. Therefore Windows 7 (64-bit) requires the 32-bit version of Oracle Client and configuration with the 32-bit version of the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
TDOT does not manage non-TDOT computers and does not have sufficient security rights to administer shared software like Oracle on non-TDOT computers. However, because Oracle 9i or 10g is required to run SiteManager, we have provided a convenient link to download the Oracle 10g install program and this guide for configuring Oracle to work with SiteManager.
Note: Oracle 10g and Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 are two names for the same software and are used interchangeably.
SiteManager setup guides are located on the TDOT Construction SiteManager website:
1. Follow the Oracle 10g Client Install directions on page 2.
2. Setup Oracle for SiteManager using the directions on page 19
3. Configure ODBC using the instructions that match your operating system on page 20 or page 23
4. If you will use VPN to connect to TDOT, test your connection using the instructions on page 28

ODBC Configuration for Windows 7 (64-bit)
SiteManager Client 3.11a requires that a 32-bit version of Oracle Client (10g is recommended) must be installed on the Windows 7 (64-bit). Windows 7 (64-bit) comes with both the 32-bit and 64-bit ODBC Administrator. The ODBC connection for the SiteManager Client must be configured in the 32-bit ODBC Administrator.
This section of the installation guide will walk you through how to setup the ODBC connection in the 32-bit ODBC Administrator for New SiteManager Client installs.
1. Select the Start Button
2. Open Administrative Tools, Right Click on Data Sources (ODBC), and Select Properties.
[pic]
3. Rename the Data Source on the General Tab of the Properties Dialog Box to Data Source (ODBC 32 Bit).
[pic]
4. Select the Shortcut Tab on the Properties Dialog Box.
5. Edit the Target Field with %windir%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe.
6. Edit the Start in Field with %windir%\SysWOW64.
7. Select OK to close the Properties Dialog Box.
[pic]
Note: The 64-bit version of the ODBC Data Source Administrator will have the “Target” set to %windir%\System32\odbcad32.exe and the “Start in” set to %windir%\System32.
8. Open the ODBC Data Source Administrator from Administrative Tools
9. Select the Drivers Tab, scroll down until you see Oracle in OraClient X
a. This will indicate to you that the correct ODBC Administrator is now being used.

10. Select the Systems DSN
11. Add a new ODBC for PSMR.

This completes the 32-bit ODBC setup for the 3.11a version of SiteManager Client on Windows 7 (64-bit).
