ANNOTATION:

Mathematical, neural and hybrid modelling, state and parameter estimation, optimisation and control of microbiological processes and biotechnological systems.

The main interest deals with the anaerobic digestion of organic wastes (single and mixtures) from agriculture, waste water treatment plants, food industry. The microbial composition, metabolite products and biochemical mechanisms of substrate degradation are studied and technologies are created for realization and practice. Various approaches for intensification and control of these anaerobic microbiological processes are developed. The stress is on the system and mathematical approaches for their study and optimisation.
