o Roll based on 1848 Act and is for Eastern or North Carolina Cherokees. o "We the undersigned Eastern or North Carolina Cherokee Indians do hereby

acknowledge to have received from the United States by the hand of John B. Jones, U. S. Indian Agent, the sums opposite our name in full payment of our share of the per capita fund of $53.33 and the interest due therein provided by the Act of July 29, 1848 in commutation for removal and subsistence for those Cherokees who have removed themselves to the nation West of the Mississippi." o Per capita roll lists the following details: Names of claimants and their heirs, number on Noul Cay (?) Roll, sex and age, when emigrated, number on Swetland Roll, amount per capita, interest, time for which interest is computed, signature of claimants in acknowledgement of the receipt of amount due, and witness to signatures of claimants and payments.

Delaware Indian Per Capita Payment Roll: 1906 o "We, the undersigned members of the Delaware Tribe of Indian in the Cherokee Nation, who, under the Treaty of July 4, 1866, elected to preserve their tribal relations and who

entered into and carried out the agreement with the Cherokees of Apr. 8, 1867, and their descendants, or the legal representative of such Delaware Indians, do hereby acknowledge the receipt, from Dana H. Kelsey, United States Indian Agent, Union Agency, of the sums set opposite our respective signatures upon the dates indicated, and the same is hereby accepted as a full and complete settlement of our claims and demands against the United States as members of the said Delaware Tribe of Indians residing in the Cherokee Nation, as provided by the Act of Congress approved Apr. 21, 1904, the amounts indicated being paid as directed by said tribe in council, by resolution of October 13, 1904 and upon a roll showing the members of said tribe duly approved by the Secretary of the Interior." o Lists registered number, Dawes Commission number, present number, names, relationship, age, sex, per capita amount, amount paid, number of check, signatures, signature of witnesses, date of payment, and remarks. o There is no index.

Indian blood o Column one shows the number adopted by the Osage allotting commission. Column two shows the number on the roll approved Apr. 11, 1908. Column three shows the number of the affidavit filed by the allottee giving age and degree of Indian blood. Column four gives the name of the allottee and shows the relationship as it appears upon the present annuity roll.
